I realize this is a dated *event.* However, if you are interested in adventure and the outrageously insane, you may enjoy it.
Beautiful and extraordinary YouTube vid of Yves Rossy's Flight at Grand Canyon West

I read in a National Geographic last month that this guy (who was featured on the front page) bought the farm on one of these flights last year.
I thought this guy died!

He had to stand along side Steve Fossett, General Chuck Yeager, Evil Knievel, Alain Robert, and Omar Locklear. ;)

>>> No indication of his demise on his web site.
I found the issue of National Geographic I was referring to.
My bad... in the same article, there is a full page photo of Jim Mitchell leaping off a cliff, and the footnote mentions he died weeks later in a similar jump that went bad.
The article was about “Can We Fly”, and features Rossy on the front cover and on the first page of the article.
I just assumed that the article was an exclusive on Rossy.
I’m glad he’s still flying around.

High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I’ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee
No 412 squadron, RCAF

Thanks for the update. I can't imagine what it is that motivates a person who wants a more powerful jet pack so he can perform with wing walkers.

Many men are captivated by the ability of birds to enjoy FRee flight without much restriction. See Jonathon Livingstone Seagull for more info.
This man has done as much as he can, so far, to eliminate some of those restrictions.
He is having more fun than anyone else, I’d wager!
