Sorry; I wasn’t implying that you need to learn history, just some of the general population. I was thinking about USSR, Germany, China, etc., how things go deadly fast.
To: RockinRight
I guess there's no reason to go on anymore...No, the point in criticizing the current crop of not-so-good candidates is to force them to get better.
To: Marie
It wasnt so hard for me. I lined up the candidates, then looked at their positions on the issues that mattered the most to me and I picked the one *I* liked.
Dont worry about what other people think and say. Youre an American, son! Use that G-d-given freedom, THINK and choose! :)
For me it was Cain because:
- he wants to get us to the Fair Tax system and end income tax for all of us
- hes pro-life
- hes pro-marriage
- he wants to repeal Obamacare
- he believes in states rights
- he doesnt support any federal gun control
- he doesnt believe we should be involved with other countries civil matters, yet I believe he would defend us
- he believes in G-d and supports Israel
- he believes in exploiting our energy resources
- he wants to curtail the EPA, shut down the DOE and slash the h#ll out of Washington spending
- he wants to cut *way* back on govt regulations - restoring freedom to the free market AND to you and me
- hes for controlling our borders with everything weve got and not giving a free pass to line-jumpers
- hes the only one with a plan to save Social Security for the up and coming generations
- I believe that he can handle Obama in a debate and that he has the charisma to win
- he believes in though love and bootstraps, not hand-outs
- hes intelligent
- hes accomplished
- he can communicate the conservative argument and would be a good standard bearer
- he honestly and truly believes in America and her people
- I believe that hes a really good guy whos guided by sound principles. I believe that he will make mistakes (hes not the messiah), but that he will never intentionally hurt or betray this nation
- I love that hes not a career politician. There is no comparison between his life/career experiences and Obamas liberal life in a college. Cain has DONE it. Hes lived life and succeeded. All Obama has done is talk liberalspeak.
I disagree with his stand on the War on Drugs. (I believe that present policy is inefficient and ineffective. I believe that if we put 1/3rd of the money were currently spending into rehabilitation programs for non-violent drug offenders, wed make a lot more headway and bring down our prison population. Rehab is more effective than jail time. I also believe that govt interference hurts the dr/patient relationship and leaves a lot of innocent people in a condition of chronic pain. Cain wants to continue. Ive heard no talk of reforming the program.)
I think hes the closest thing were going to find to a perfect conservative. Not perfect, but very good. Definitely good enough for what we require right now.
I believe that, in Cains America, my children will be able to find work and support their families.
Hes the candidate that *I* most closely align myself with and thats why he gets my vote.
Now go do your homework, find out what the other candidates stand for and make *your* choice. This is part of being a responsible American.
EXCELLENT

The ability to beat Barack Hussein Obama beyond the margin of election theft.
BEYOND THE MARGIN OF ELECTION THEFT.....words to live by.

Preach it, brother.
The hyper-purists are why I never participate in those kind of threads around here anymore.

King Arthur: I am your king.
Peasant Woman: Well, I didn’t vote for you.
King Arthur: You don’t vote for kings.
Peasant Woman: Well, how’d you become king, then?
[Angelic music plays... ]
King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king.
Dennis the Peasant: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Arthur: Be quiet!
Dennis the Peasant: You can’t expect to wield supreme power just ‘cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

You’re leading us to the conclusion that there’s no way to distinguish between RINOs and non-RINOs. But this analysis is simply a version of relativism.

You violated the rules ~ however, you complained about Congress as if WE controlled both houses. We don't. Your complaint had that air.
You, my good sir, are a REAL JACKASS!

Im sick of these jerks who plan to stay home next year. They are as bad or worse than Obama and I plan on reminding them of this daily.
they can take their more conservative than thou crappola and shove it.
We need to get rid of Obama period. All else is secondary.BRAVO...that deafening roar you hear is my applause. I hope those people sleep well after they give us four more years of the Marxist tyrant. I just hope they don't come cryin' the blues afterward, they won't get any sympathy from me either.
