The appeals court retried the case with a very careful examination of the evidence. Based on tbe evidence, the appeals case found her innocent. The court could have found the evidence inconclusive but instead made an innocence finding. Almost all of the evidence against her is highly contested. Depending on interpretation, the evidence can either be persuasive for or against conviction. I have changed my mind in the case. I was previously swayed by the prosecution's view of the evidence. But after much more careful reading, I have concluded that the evidence never supported a conviction. I am not willing to assert her innoncence but the evidence is not nearly strong enough for conviction.

It was a Richard Speck situation ~ a type of criminal who goes from door to door in an apartment building testing to see if it's open, then going inside to rape, rob and kill whoever is there.

This guy found only one girl. If he'd found two he'd killed both. if three, he'd killed all of them. If four, he'd killed four.

I expect that some time in the future they'll find some of his other victims.

Then entire Italian system of ‘justice’ is as convoluted as it can possibly be.

There was the matter of her DNA on the knife that ended her roommate’s life and Amanda’s association with the scum that surrounded the victim as she died of multiple knife wounds.

What was Amanda doing at the scene? Paring her toe nails?

This was a sick, needless crimes (most are, of course) but this involved sex, drugs and animosity toward the roommate.
