“I cannot believe that this is what College football has come down to.”

Well, this is what happens when colleges award scholorships to people from the feral inner-city population. Don’t misunderstand me, because I love college football. But at some point you just need to understand that college sports are a mega-billion dollar business. The only difference between the NCAA and NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB is that the pro athletes are paid millions of $$$$ while college players receive thousands of $$$$ (scholorships - tuition, room and board, books, and small montyly stipend).

But when these spoiled college athletes “graduate” and can’t read, write or get a job, they wail and moan about how they were taken advantage of by “the man”.

My suggestion: Just watch the games and enjoy it, just like you would a professional game. The only difference is who is making the money.

One thing you will not see at Bama is the players jumping around like they won the NC after making a simple good play. How the players act is a reflection of the coaches and all depends on the coach. Paterno, Saban, Miles and other good coaches do not put up with the showboating. However, Les Miles is certainly a riverboat gambler but that’s another story.

“”May I supplement with Tom Landry’s “For God’s sake, if you make it into the end zone, act like you have been there before.” What a class act he was.””

I beliee it was Coach Paul Bear Bryant who said that. However, Landry was a class act.

I know what you mean. I don't waste a lot of time watching sports, but last year I was at a friend's house during an NFL playoff game and then again during the Super Bowl. I guess I'm out of touch because I was amazed at all the celebration on the most trivial plays.

It's interesting that in baseball, this sort of thing remains verboten, and is self-enforced by the players. Try showing up the other team, and eat a fastball, or get your head pounded.
