Yep. I’m storing some of my people calories “on the hoof”, a lot, in fact.
As for Dixie, Dubbers and Stuffy - they’re on their own. They been freeloading on us too long anyway. Dixie and Stuffy 12 yrs., Dubbers 5 yrs. What a bunch of GOLDBRICKS! (Extremely valuable, but just sit there looking pretty!)

I'd recommend getting your pets micro chipped. This one act will increase the chances of getting your pet back if the SHTF due to weather or natural disasters. OTOH make plans for your pets and livestock, its just good planning.

I would forever and always take care of my pet. She is more than a pet to us as have been all our other pets over the years. She will be provided for and she will remain with us. If I took care of everyone else and let her fend for herself...I could never live with myself. I dont see how or why I couldnt do both. Take care of myself, our family and our pet plus what I could do for others. How would including our pet in everything would that stop me from taking care of others. In my mind I would do everything I could do for not only my family and other people but my own pet and any others I could help along the way. Its a Hop aboard and together well make it!!!
I could never let anything happen to my 3 cats if I can help it. I see my pets as equals in my life. I see it this way, my uncle always thought that a person's character is how "he treats his animals" so I do believe there is a lot of karma to it. I lost a cat to cancer four months ago and although it was inevitable that he would pass on from it, I do feel we did our best to keep him going a fair quality of life up until the last day or three.

If a domesticated animal is all the meat I would get, then this Marine would become a vegetarian.
And I’d put a bullet in anyone who tried to take one of mine.
