That's a hanging sign in the mid-foreground. In the first shot the camera's looking up at it. In the second shot the camera is more level and is shooting under it. I think you can see the corner of it.
Well spotted!!
The angle of the photo is different. Presumably the one with Barack Jr. was taken by his mom, and the one with his mom was taken by Barack Jr. (if someone else had been there, I'd have expected a photo of the three of them together).
Anyway, I can see a couple of minutes going by between the taking of the two photos (for instance, maybe mom and dad required some persuasion to be in a photo together, or Barack Jr. needed help with the camera, or other photos were taken in-between). And I've certainly been in situations where I was being helped by one airline employee and another took over in the middle of the task. (And in the work I used to do, we would do that fairly often for a number of different reasons.)
Some people do. And he was just a kid, so there could be other reasons.
His head is huge in that picture... It must have shrunk down as he aged.
Yes, I know there's a sign. But airports are full of signs that mention other cities -- and this was the late 60's, before computerized signs. Here's my original post:
Wouldn't the "San Francisco" sign be more likely to refer to the origin or destination of a flight? How likely would it be to have such a sign within that part of the airport? Theoretically, everyone knows what city they're in, and aside from a few "Welcome to" signs or "SF Airport" signs, I wouldn't expect to see a small sign like that inside the SF Airport.
You’re right....he sure does!
Barry was born in 1961.
Barack was kicked out of this country in 1965.
Stanley Ann was married to Lolo Soetoro from 1965 to 1980.
These photos were taken about 1969?
Maya was born in 1970.
The sign under “San Francisco” says “Phillipines” and to the right of Barack’s head says “Japan”.
No. It’s that the time shown on BarackSr and BarackJr’s wristwatches is different.
