Contrast that with his song “Fate Of A Man”.

compelling.

Yes, there is much in Scottish history like that.

Some of my ancestors claimed Scott/Irish origin, but we have no evidence of that. Prior to Texas they were in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.

Other of my ancestors were born in TX during the Republic.

“Witchita Lineman” is one of my all time favorite songs...

I like that one, too. It's a great football song.

Glen is playing up here soon at the local Indian casino... i have a friend who is helping to coordinate with the show who said the tour may be in doubt. Glen’s wife called to report he is having difficulties in doing the basics in life, like finding the bathroom... Sad.

I hope he is able to do the tour as I would really love to see him do his goodbye show.

Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour

Campbell will be supported on tour by the roots band Instant People, which includes all three of his children with current wife Kim—sons Cal on drums and Shannon on guitar, and daughter Ashley on banjo and keyboards—as well as daughter Debbie from a previous marriage. His eldest daughter Debbie sings harmony. Prior to the tour, they played a show in Biloxi, Mississippi previewing the line-up. Campbell intends to tour as long as his health allows, covering the world.

Check out the venues Glen is playing in the U.S. and those overseas. Looks like a bit of a disparity to me.

In the summer of ‘09 while heading to see Crater of Diamonds State Park in rural Arkansas, we passed through tiny little Delight.....complete with it’s weathered “Birthplace of Glen Campbell” signage.

It seems unfair to me that his family has set up this tour when he is in such poor condition. Just because he may want to do it does not mean he should do it.

“Show Me Your Way” from 1991 was a great CD from Mr. Campbell. Lots of good songs and help from Russ Taff, Ann Murray and Kelly Nelon Thompson. Although it may not have been a big seller, I am surprised the author of the article did not mention this.

How was your trip to the diamond mine? I’ve always wanted to do that.

It was a hoot.....we booked a room in little Murfreesboro and drove to the park, not really knowing what to expect.

Wifey was wearing white pants and white flip-flops, so when we got to the very muddy (rain the previous night) diamond field our excavation plans got pretty much aborted.

Yesterday I sent this link to my brother....he came back with the comment that as-yet unknown Glen Campbell had been the entertainer at their 1963 high school graduation banquet in the Los Angeles area......it was shortly thereafter that he started getting recognition and “real” gigs.

Late response on my part, but Campbell also plays the banjo — he played the banjo part of the banjo/bass harmonica solo on “I Know There’s an Answer” off of “Pet Sounds.”

“Witchita Lineman” is one of my all time favorite songs...

That is a beautiful song.

And "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" was one of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar.
