True....a great (armchair :) food show...
...not cooking show, moves too fast.
I personally love watching Paula’s shows. I started watching the Food Network while I was recovering from a very severe bout of pheumonia a few years ago. Her show quickly became one of my favorites, because she is hillarious. My young daughters would often spend the time with me watching her show and I did not have to worry about the language on the show either.
Not all of the recipes on her show are full of butter and unhealthy and she often includes her sons on the show, both of which usually have quite healthy dishes to demonstrate. Part of her appeal is that she is sort of over the top and her love of butter, fried foods and sweets is joked about on the show. Most of the time when she does cook something sweet or unhealthy she mentions that a person should not eat these types of dishes every day. She does suggest that sweets and rich dishes should be eaten in moderation.
While I don’t often go and get her recipes off of the food network website to try, I do often get ideas from her show that I can incorporate into my own cooking for my family. She often gives budget stretching ideas and shortcuts that I find are especially helpful in this economy.
On the other hand, I personally can’t stand Anthony Bordain, although my husband watches his show sometimes if he can’t find anything else to watch on TV. I find his shows quite slow moving and boring. He always sounds like he is talking down to his audience as if he is some supreme know it all. I usually pull out a book to read, instead!
I used to watch his show until one day he talked abut going outside of New York into flyover country and really sounded like one of those pansy boys from the city who think everyone out here is toothless and uneducated. That was enough for me.They can find him dead one day of alcohol poisoning for all I care he is a real *ick!
Yes he’s a mean spirited person. I’ve watched his show and he’s also quite the hypocrite. He’ll shoot guns at Ted Nugents ranch in Texas and love it, then he’ll talk about how he supports gun control.
That he publicly stated those things tells us a lot more about him than the other people.
I know people who have met Emeril in person. He’s a superb host and gentleman.
As for Flay, he was the owner of a restaurant. Being a boss in that environment isn’t a popularity contest.
Meanwhile he minimizes all of the things the communists have done, showing how well they have 'managed' the country.
Terrible story...
Paula Deen seems like a lot of fun and doesn't pick on anyone. This guy should just back off.
Was it anything like Lee's Kwazaa cake?
Comic gold at the link.
Publicity hound.
I like Bourdain’s show too, yet I can’t figure out why. He’s a brash New Yorker which offends my southern sensibilities, yet I always find myself watching his show.
