disco was rap in leisure suit.
What a great show. I think..but that was during Bush The Elder, I think.
Men at work broke in the early 80s - the Aussie Americas Cup team used ‘I come from a land dow under’ as their theme in 1983
Disco wasn’t “serious” music, for the most part. It wasn’t supposed to be. Disco was sexy and clean and fun and very rhythmic. Rap is none of that.

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain’t it funny how the night moves
When you just don’t seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in

Just trying to remember what was in my vinyl collection at that time (junior high for me) that had not been mentioned already.
An interesting FYI to the guy who posted the cover of “Aja”.
Steely Dan are playing at the Orpheum Theatre at the end of this month here in Omaha. They sold out in about a day. The tickets now on Stubhub and the other ticket services are going for about $200-400 a pop! I jacked around and didnt get on to buy them til a couple of days afterwards and they were all gone and that was not a good thing with my spouse. We both have really gotten into Steely Dan the last few years and agreed that we would make sure and see them if they were anywhere close. Looks like I might have to choke up a chunk of money to see those guys. We’ve only been to one show this summer so far but 4 big ones is still gonna hurt.
I had to look that up. I thought it was older. I knew it was the first album after Peter Gabriel left. Feb 1976. Still Gerry Ford time.
That is one of my favorite Genesis albums. Squonk is the type of song I play at #11 on a scale 10.
Amen brother.
