SNL may have been she did the performance of “Running Up That Hill” with just two guys playing kettle drums, behind her, I ~think~.
I saw it done once but can never find that video.
It may have been on another of the non-MTV music video shows.
It was awesome.
Blew me away.
Bowie often had some weird videos. Another of my favs was “Shock the Monkey” by Peter Gabriel.

Though I think my favorite video of all time is “One” by Metallica.

Thanks for the ping OW :)

I had no clue what Rotoscope was until you posted that. Yes, it was Rotoscope, and thank you allowing me to learn another tidbit of useles trivia! :)
To be honest, I was expecting a gay uh...thing....when I looked it up. :-/
ABBA is Rock n Roll? Gee who knew? BTW I share your outrage. Used to be a member of the AC fan club. Even wore his Whiplash mascara. Yeah I had it bad. LOVED it!!!
ABBA is crap but that’s just my opinion.
I still have it bad.
Check my profile page....LOL

they should not be allowed to take pictures of ladies sitting on toilets...(that’s a bathroom she’s in, right?)
LOL!
Rotoscope is cool, IMO.
“A Scanner Darkly” was one of *the* most amazing ‘scoped flicks I’ve ever seen.
Don’t know if you’re old enough to remember the movies “Heavy Metal”, “American Pop”, “Wizards” [all Ralph Bakshe productions] or “Watership Down” and “Plague Dogs” but they, and others you wouldn’t imagine were rotoscoped.
I’m a huge fan of it if it’s done well.
If you’re interested in the history of it:

To this day, I still think “Billion Dollar Babies” is one of the coolest songs ever recorded (and Generation Landslide, too, for some reason)
I remember getting into Alice back in 1974-1975 (something like that—I remember the School’s Out Album cover with the school desk flip top and the lady’s panty covering the disc—I thought, “What the...!) He appeared on Don Kirschner’s In Concert. They showed some live concert footage (School’s Out, Gutter Cat vs. the Jets) and then showed what must have been one of the earliest rock videos of all time. It was the song, Elected, with Alice all decked out in a white satin tux, cane in hand and a monkey for a campaign manager (kind of reminds me of McCain’s run, now that I think of it.)
Alice was always cutting edge.

Ken Ober, Remote Control Host, Is Dead at 52
http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/11/16/ken-ober-remote-control-host-is-dead/
That show, which was the networks first original series to focus on non-musical content, tested participants on their knowledge of television, music-video and pop-culture trivia. The show, which also provided a launching pad for the careers of comedians like Adam Sandler and Colin Quinn, drew much of its sarcastic, self-mocking spirit from the culturally obsessive Mr. Ober, who ran the program like a late-night talk show (or frat party) and gleefully teased players who gave wrong answers.
Decked myself out to look like Alice for a concert of his at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, NJ (Nightmare tour.) The show was rained out and went home to “sleep it off.” My friend woke me up the next afternoon to let me know the show was back on that night. Mascara still on, probably resembling Alice in appearance just a little bit more (some things take just a bit longer to wear off than others), we took off for the show. Had a great time.
Martha Quinn. Big time.
Well I laugh to myself
At the men and the ladies
Who *never* conceived of us billion dollar babies
[da da da da da!]
One of his best “little known tunes”, ever.
“Malatov milk bottles”...LOL
Have you ever seen the video for that?
It was made during his “Special Forces” era where he looked like a cross between Kate Hepburn and Baby Jane.
Check it out...:)

In ‘74, he freaked out the world with the prime time premier of “Alice Cooper: The Nightmare” with Vincent Price.
It was the whole stage show as a “movie”.
I was 13 and stared at the TV is rapt amazement.
My life was never the same again.
;]
He’s re-released a “School’s Out” box set with an actual 3D desktop filled with scraps of paper, notes and unreleased photos.
If anybody wants to buy that for me, it’s only $249 + shipping.
;D
I’ve never gone to his concerts wearing his makeup but I’ve done my share of Halloween parties, decked out.
[*chicks* keep trying to pick me up...WTH?]
LOL
Hmmmm...I have a front row/center seat next month.
[maybe *this* time...wonder if the top hat would tick off the folks behind me? I guess I could always smack ‘em with my whip]...;D
Love Alice!
One of my favorite memories...after getting through all of Basic Training except the graduation ceremony, I got base liberty and the first thing I did was go over to the rec center. MTV was on the big screen and the first thing I saw after six weeks without any TV or music was Alice’s video for “Poison.”
Why can’t anybody remember the blonde VJ’s name?
LOL
Yeah, it was a great song.
The over-indulgent machines were their children
There wasn’t a way down on Earth here to cool them
‘Cause they looked just like humans
At Kresge’s and Woolworth’s
But decadent brains were at work to destroy
Brats in batallions were ruling the streets
Saying generation landslide
Closed the gap between them
Heh, heh, heh...”The over-indulgent machines were their children...Looked just like humans...” As a high school teacher (and now conservative), these lines have taken on new meaning...
Whoa!
I also got MTV for the first time in 1985, but I lived in a small town in Maine. I never would have dreamed at the time that there were still people in NYC who couldn't get cable!
