I am entirely open to the idea of changing the Constitution so that we discourage the anchor babies. Really. We need to look at it.
Until that’s done, though ... good eligible candidates are good eligible candidates.
In your dreams.
I’ll bet I have a higher opinion of Rubio than you do. That has nothing to do with it. Either you meet the Founders’ qualifications for the presidency or you don’t. Marco does NOT.
It is not negotiable and only a constitutional amendment would make him so.
Romney is winning everywhere right now. If Perry gets in it, Romney is still winning everywhere except the south. Romney is neck and neck with Obama with a slight edge at this point. The other candidates are behind Obama in most polls at this moment, but I think it’s going to get worse for Obama, not better.
And is on Romney's short list for VP.
I’d hold my nose and vote for that combo.
And based on Baraq’s disastrous economic record, it’s a ticket far more likely to win than the similarly flawed McCain/Palin in 08.
It could be worse.
FAIL.
Who is listening to you, noob?
I really don't think he will, though. His record is Massachusetts should be enough to sink him.
You may say “fail” all you would like.
It’s my belief that Rubio is eligible according to The Constitution.
In my opinion...you fail... so we’ll agree to disagree then?
Agreed.
That’s very agreeable of you.
Let's put Rubio's name on the ticket and find out. Let's see who's left stomping their feet, sputtering "b-b-but he's not eligible!!!" Why won't anyone listen to us??? O-bots everywhere!!!"
Rubio needs to be on everyone's short list for VP.
Just don’t be surprised if Rubio is selected the MSM and Democrats become born-again “birthers.”
Obama is an illegal alien, and yet the DNC didn’t care, so if Rubio is on the ticket, do you think the left will attack him? go ahead and let them, the Hispanic community will turn against the Democrats if they try to bash Rubio. And hopefully we will have the Dream Ticket of Perry/Rubio. Even Perry/McDonnell sounds terrific.
I won't be surprised at all. They'll argue "At least Obama had an American mom!"
Exactly.
Rubio is young, good-looking, articulate, popular in the swing state of Florida and able to effectively communicate a conservative message to the voters. If he throws his hat into the ring, he'll be attacked mercilessly because he is that rare but serious threat to the Democrats; an electable conservative.
