I would, probably, for $1M/year, after tax and annualized.
But definitely it would have to be $1M/year.

Would You Give Up The Internet For 1 Million Dollars?
Sure. You don't need the Intrawebs. There are plenty of respectable news outlets out there for news.

Now that I think about it, I would probably do it for $500K/year, after tax.
I might go as low as $200K/year, but I'd like to see a financial wizard run the numbers (how much would such an annuity cost up front, I wonder?).

Who in the heck is that freak with his face painted...and bouncing around?
That's what we have come to.
And the answer is no. I am a meteorologist for the military...so I couldn't...I have to do all my work on the 'net. However, once I retire...have my patch of land and little prepper heaven out in the middle of nowhere? The answer might be yes.

In a New York minute. My brother and SIL don’t have a computer and are existing just fine.

Yeah, I would. I’d buy a 60ft yacht, stock it, put the rest in investments and kiss the internet goodbye.

I think you’d have to define “internet” a bit more precisely. Would it include a prohibition of any device or service that utilizes the web? I’m not sure it’s possible unless it’s just giving up casual browsing and personal activity.

I absolutely would. I worked my whole life and was able to save about $500k. My house is worth $150-$200k and is paid for. I'm losing about as much as I make anymore in the stock market. If I could get a check for a million dollars, I would cut the puter off and start living. What I'm doing now, I wouldn't call living. Scrimping and scraping trying to make my IRA last till Social Security kicks in is getting VERY hard. A million dollars would more than double my savings over night.
I'm not cheap, but I can be had. We are just negotiating price now. Seriously, the first thing that poped into my mind was, "How will I get Beck's GBTV without the internet?"
A million dollars or Beck, a million dollars or Beck,.......Hmmmm, let me think about that. I suppose I could make it with just the radio portion.

I would depend on ‘how long’ I would have to give up the internet.

Absolutely! I would buy a shack on a tropical beach in South America. My career is in IT and when I am done working I am going to be a luddite.

Tristan da Cunha looks more and more appealing to me, but I’d probably have to marry a citizen to live there (if that is even allowed).
