Born March 2, 1930, says Wikipedia, so he’s 81! Clean living, or something. March 2 is also Texas Independence Day, fwiw.
Howard Caine (Lewis Morris of New York) was also a Tennesseean.
81! I had no idea! God bless him!
My husband reminds me that when we spoke to him years ago he was appearing in an unknown show called “Urinetown.” He said quietly: “I always knew my career would end up in the toilet.”
LOL
I produced an evening - about 18 years ago - of the music of Alan Jay Lerner. Mr. Cullum and Robert Goulet were invited to sing and they did. Mr. Goulet had to, just had to, point out that he had had a hit recording with “On a Clear Day,” and then sung it (badly). Mr. Cullum had originated the song on Broadway. When it was Mr. Cullum’s time to sing, he got up on stage and said to Mr. Obnoxious Goulet: “Let’s face it, Bob, neither of us made that song a hit. It was Barbra Streisand who had the hit recording.” Mr. Cullum doesn’t tolerate fools.
Oh sure, you’re right. I was mixing his character up with General Burkhalter.
I have some Windsor chairs right here in my living room!
I saw Mr. Cullum do Shenandoah in a very bad Broadway revival in the ‘80s - I think it was the ‘80s, might have been early ‘90s. Tacky sets, costumes and supporting cast. But Mr. Cullum’s comic timing and amazing pipes - yet again - blew me away. A real pro.
I’m thrilled to meet so many fans on FR! I thought I was the only theatre maven.

I got two wrong. No cheating!
I missed three. Signed it a month later ... typical of Congresscritters ...
Windsor chairs are nice for people without mobs of children.
Did you ever meet a handsome Hispanic actress, with a rather Barbra Streisand voice (and nose) named Carmen Lamar? She was in New York from around 1995 to 2005, iirc.
I hope you didn’t miss the one about Robert Livingston. As we know from the show, he was going home to celebrate and pop the cork with all the Livingstons back in old New York!
No, I got that one. I missed two dates and the “how many copies,” because it seemed like if you were going to bother to typeset it, you should make a lot.
No, but she has her own web site. She looks very young but if she was in NYC during those years, she couldn’t be in her 20s.
So many actresses in NYC! Hard businesses - 90% unemployment.
She’s my age, going to be 45 this year. Her father and mine were in a couple of different Navy posts together, so we were neighbors for several years in the 1970s.
