Because next time we have a Republican President running for second term, we don’t want a Democrat doing the same thing. Can you imagine a Democrat doing that to President Bush last time and then after the primary decide to run for Independent? We could not afford to lose many votes in 2000 and 2004.

Yours is a profoundly naive question, and I’m being charitable in calling it naive.

I’ve been wondering the same thing, more or less. Obama is easily beatable, and any one of a dozen Democrats could do it. If they won’t, the Republicans should run a Democrat against him. There are a lot of Republican Democrats, Mitt for one.

It sure would be fun watching obama get dragged threw the mud by both sides. His magic has warn off and he has no record of accomplishment to run on. Should be easy to beat him with the right candidate.

We’re better than they are, for starters. And we’re not children.

This is why we are in the mess we are in; we continue to play by the Marquess of Queensberry Rules, and they street fight. We have given them the ability to infiltrate our primaries with "open primaries", we let dems like Bloomberg run as Rs, and we continue to let RINOs run the R party.

Most everyone is agreed that if 0 wins the next election, America may never recover. So why the heck do we continue to do what we have always done and expect a different outcome?

Maybe, but with many states with open primaries, and a possible Operation Chaos II...

Just how well did Operation Chaos work in 2008?

Not MoQ rules, just flat out stupidity combined with a profound, rampant ignorance among the grassroots of what running a political campaign entails.

The dunces in charge of the state party organizations in the 1990’s gave us open primaries, because they wanted to “reach out” to the increasing numbers of independents. Of course that’s stupid, because why have a political party if you aren’t going to serve the people who share your core beliefs.

Gross Conceptual Error.

Democrats WILL NOT vore for a conservative. Republicans WILL vote for a liberal. That's why the DNC is called the Evil Party and the GOP is called the Stupid Party.
