(I think it’s a total of 24...)

That’s what it looked like...but the one we had was quite a bit larger (50-60 miles across). There’s a story at HuffPost (if you can stand the place) with some pics of the haboob we had the other night. Some of the comments are comical, but the pics are worth the click.

Our thunderstorm has turned into nothing, after they had to close the pools because of lightning. Bill has gone roller skating with his friend from church. I hope he doesn’t hurt himself: they have a swim meet tomorrow!

Not as exciting as a dust storm, but I kind of wish I was there to see Bill roller skating. He might muss his perfect hair!

"Is that a dust storm?"

Yes, it is. It can strip the paint off your vehicles and give a frosted glass look to your windshield.

You may want to change the air filters in your internal combustion engines, and maybe drain out the sand.

My hands feel as if Bill had skated over them. My back feels as if he should, just to put me out of my misery until the monsoons are over with.

But enough complaining. I’m grateful that I’m alive to feel the pain! I think it falls into the “thank the Lord” category!

If I can get a ride tomorrow, I’ll check the PO again. Not going to walk after 0500 any more until the momsoons are over with. There is way too much moisture in the air for me to walk and be comfortable.

"Counting on me? But I only have five digits on each appendage...."

I would suggest using binary. You can count up to thirty-one on one hand, and up to at least a thousand with the digits of two hands.

Adding additional digits doubles each previous total. But a thousand usually suffices for my needs.

And don’t forget to wash your hair until the water runs clear. Outside with the hose is probably the best way for the first two washes. ;o]

Sand storms are eerie on approach and miserable upon delivery.

Oh. I’m sorry, Bob. I had forgotten Binary. All those ones and zeroes (zeros?) count for something after all. :o]

Ah. Then, if you’re counting on me, you’ll have some digits left over. Sorry, Sis... :o|

"I only need to count to 20."

Finger binary

It's a good finger exercise for one hand. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine ... thirty, thirty-one.

Oh, of course there's also having no digits extended. The closed fist is good for nothing.

Half-life. Video game. Main character is Gordon Freeman. Starts with a crowbar as a weapon. Half-life II it's the first one you get as well.

Darksheare made reference to it in his other posting hence the picture.

Thomas...you are FAR too intellectual! Just let the wind of the song blow through you. You will either understand or you won’t.

Either way, we’re here to HEP YA’all!

I’m usually annoyed with the USPS. If I get a ride today, I’ll check again. Otherwise it will be Monday. I’m just too tired to make that walk again today. The monsoons take so much out of me.
