When you add the stimulus development money to the per-unit cost, it's an $80K golf cart. And then include another $8K of tax credit and the tax payers have $48K invested in ever Volt sold.
With all the tax money spent on these cars(?), the owners should be required to pass them around so that we all get to drive them. We're paying more of the cost of producing them than the owners.
Has anyone done a analysis on how much it cost the government to upgrade facilities to accommodate recharging these things. Upgrading the wiring and installing charging stations in government garages and parking lots is expensive. And, the copper thieves are gonna love all this. Look at all that additional copper laying around just waiting to be sold as scrap.
The Abarth version is insane (in a good way). I recall that Jeremy Clarkson enjoyed zipping about in one.
where did I say I want cars to burn coal? Oh my god, why do morons keep posting!!!!!!!!! Nevermind, im tired of debating with trash.. Its like this place has only become filled with trolls recently.
You said electric cars would make us less dependent upon foreign oil. I said electric cars burn coal ... where the hell do you think the electricity comes from!
