It just seems unlikely a millionaire...

I guess you've never heard of Andrew Luster, heir to the Max Factor fortune.

When I heard that same thing regarding his replacement I thought the same thing briefly. Then I remembered the Rahm Emanuel thing on never letting a perfectly good crisis go to waste. That's my guess?

The jackals in the wings just waiting for a global money manager to step on his dick must be in the hundreds. It's a matter of who had the best plan already in place for when the foot met johnson.

My thoughts regarding a “set-up:”

If only any of our government people were so clever to put together such a diabolical scheme. Anyone with experience in government will tell you, they simply are not that clever.

The maid was told the room was empty, was told to clean the room and she went in.

Not a slam against maids, but a lot of them aren't the sharpest people, especially when from a third-world country.

Consider:

Reports are he chased her and finally trapped her in a hallway. Seems we had a president that chased an unwilling female once, propositioned her (Paula Jones) and exposed himself. . . and it is alleged he did commit a rape (Broderick).

So, how hard is it to believe that a self-centered french socialist with arrogance, a history of relentless womanizing and “power” would naturally force himself upon a third-world peon? After all, we had a president do basically the same thing (except with the former rape victim she was a “friend”).

The question is, do you believe some third-world maid is quick enough to think quickly, allege rape, to batter and bloody herself on the spur of the moment, concoct a story that the hotel and police would find so believable they would pursue one of the world's most powerful man to a departing jet and arrest him? To me, that is highly unlikely.

Moreover, how likely is it the police at the scene conspired with the maid to put together a frame-up in moments (ala OJ Simpson). Hardly believable, after all, why would they. They probably had no idea initially who the guy was and then, if they did find out, would still take the word of a lowly maid, all the while, knowing what sort of doo-doo-storm they would be stepping into. Instead of investigating and then issuing an arrest warrant, the police instead elect to effect an immediate arrest. Compelling evidence of the crime and the perp? Highly likely. . .therefore, the immediate arrest.

Police: “Yeah, that's the ticket, we will take the word of a maid and chase after a big wig IMF guy, pull him off a jet. We know we will become the center of media attention, have another potential OJ situation, but let the frame-up begin.”

Given the above context, and that the story from the guy (didn't happen, well, it did happen, consensual, though) changes, and applying the Bill Clinton standard of behavior (I can do anything against the less powerful because I can, after all, “who’s going to believe you anyway” defense), I go with the guy raping her.

On the news today, he wants to make bail and stay in his Manhattan apartment until the trial....

Why stay in a $3,000 a night hotel, if you’ve got your own apartment?

Maybe Parker-Spitzer can shed some light on that.

My pure speculation - the guy went to the hotel room to spend some time with a lady for hire. Either that didn’t work out, or he wasn’t satisfied...then the maid knocks on the door...

Yep, it’s all got to be a deluxe conspiracy these days. Perhaps he parked in the grand wazoo of the Illuminati’s space, thus setting the wheels in motion for his destruction.

“I wonder if a more likely scenario was Lover Boy tried to seduce her, she was thinking a nice, big fat tip from the man in the $3000 a night room and he ended up giving her twenty bucks for cleaning the room. She started screaming bloody murder, he panicked and got out of town real fast”

How about “I wonder if a more likely scenario was Lover Boy tried to seduce her, she REJECTED HIM and he ended up assaulting her because HE IS DA MAN. (Bill Clinton, call your office). She started screaming bloody murder, he panicked and got out of town real fast”

Which is more believable?

Opinions differ.

Why is it we were believing Paula Jones and Juanita Broderick (with less immediate contemporaneous evidence).

Why do have a few that believe in the innate guilt of Boy Clinton (with less contemporaneous evidence) but they will not believe some french socialist IMF big-wing with a known history is capable of the same sort of behavior?

Interesting thought to consider.

Wasn’t it reported yesterday that there was “blood all over the room”? If that’s true, I highly doubt it was consensual.

“When did everyone on FR become Marion Barry voters? “

Indeed. And Boy Clinton supporters. . .after all, Boy Clinton did the same sort of thing and we believed the accusers with less evidence.

Sure, because the Illuminati are all about taking down socialist eurotrash who are doing a bang-up job of running the world economy into the toilet. They probably want to put Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams in for the next IMF chief.

There is report of blood on the bed. Is that part of the conspiracy also?

We have birthers, deathers and now what do we have? Rapers? Do we have to show an authentic rape certificate before she is to be believed?

Free Republic is starting to become infested with every looney conspiracy out there. I’m starting to think if Clinton would have been in office during 9/11 we would have a large contingent of freepers who thought that 9/11 was an inside job! Wake up people!!
