I intend to play here Tuesday and Wednesday, but would love at least one other suggestion for a reasonably priced game of golf.

Thanks in advance !

There are a few casinos within a few miles up or down I-10. You can tack the cable car to the top of the closest mountain....... lots of good eateries, golf, many antique shops in the north. Don’t delay your trip. It will soon be 115 degrees there.

Oh no kidding about the temps, we carefully planned this to coincide with the departure of the snowbirds and the arrival of the 100 degree days.

Have you taken the tram ride? Is it worth it?

We are staying within 1 block of a casino, amazing planning on the part of my wife I think :)

Cheers,

Golf is cool, but take some time to take your bride on the Palm Springs Areal Tram ride.

On hell of a view from up there and a nice place for lunch or dinner.

The tram ride is IMO jsut about worth it. IT’S ABOUT FIFTY-SIXTY DEGREES COOLER at the top than at the bottom, so if you are in shorts and sandals at the bottom, make sure you bring serious warm clothes for the upper deck! It’s astounding, the temperature difference. No exaggeration!

There is a reason they call it Palm Springs.

Check out the Agua Calente reservation and the three canyons that lie just off of palm canyon highway, at least the entrance is "just off".

Really great picnic and just looking places; two with streams and lots of rocks and stuff, one with miles of - ready for it - palm trees. (NOT native to california)

Museum used to be neat but last time I was there it was cheap art and nada about the area's history.

Again, last time...they had a reasonably nice classic aircraft museum in process...give that a try.

Caveat, it has been awhile since I've been there, so golf might be your big attraction after all.

Funny you should mention a picnic. She has packed a collapsible ice chest just in case she wanted to “take me on a picnic”.

Excellent piece of advise. Thank you !

Why don’t you do a search on the ‘net’? Feeling particularly superior aren’t you? Alot of us could give a sh*t less about a Palm Springs golf course. I’m making an assumption here, but this vanity is more than just asking about golf courses, because any dumb*ss could locate a good one, but it’s more about letting everyone know that you are snug as a bug in a rug and the maniac in the White Hut is not affecting you.

You can ski at the top. Also, it would be worth it to cruise on over to Phoenix and catch a Sadona tour. You can catch a tour plane from there to the Grand Canyon.

If you’re interested in that sort of thing.

It is beautiful.

WOW

So sorry I asked.

Reading things on the net is a poor substitute for firsthand knowledge. This is the first vacation we have taken since my wife was hit by a drunk driver 2 years ago and I was only looking for advise to make the most of it.

Sorry I wasted the 30 seconds it took you to read it.

Cheers,

knewshound

We are already driving 500 miles to get there so I doubt we will be in the mood for much more.

I agree completely about the Grand Canyon. It is truly one of the wonders of the world. I have never been able to do the trip on a plane but I imagine it is about the only way you can really appreciate it since it is so enormous. Standing on the rim and looking over it was one of the most amazing sights I have ever seen.

Cheers,

knewshound

I live on that snow covered mountain you will be snuggled against, been here 30 years. Do the tram and South Palm Canyon Indian tour. It is unique and you won't see it anywhere else.

If you are coming in on Hwy 111 from the West, stop at Snow Creek Road and look toward the mountains for the waterfall. Is is really flowing right now and hardly no one knows it is there.

Only said Phoenix en route to Sadona.

I’m sure you can catch a tour plane from PS. There are many different kinds. Pick what you like. I looked over the rim and flew. Flying was by far the better view.

My wife and I took
a three hour tour...
a three hour tooooour...

Get to the tram early, about 9:00 am and beat the long lines.

I love Palm Springs in the summer when everyone is gone. Check out the Marriott while you are there. It is gorgeous, lots of shopping and a gondola ride to the restaurants. They also have golf courses.
