Thanks but that one doesn’t work for me either...maybe its my computer. I get no webpage reply....I must not be meant to read it....:O)
David has a post on FrontpageMag about the same event though.
Reading some of the responses is interesting.
I’ll try going to his website. Thanks, he was on TV just yesterday...(or the day before)
at Brooklyn College...Mr. Horowitz delivered an impassioned, but unerringly rational, defense of freedom of speech, pluralism, and diversity, all values under attack in the Middle East and on American campuses-the primary theme of the evening.and in the MSM.
I don't know what you mean by that remark. Although Horowitz's youth and young adulthood were devoted to "a left wing world view" (he was admittedly a Red Diaper Baby), he left his former comrades on the left decades ago and has long been a bona fide conservative, especially with respect to staunch anti-Islamist, anti-jihadi positions.
It's Horowitz's current detractors on the left, such as the hecklers present at the speech described in the current article, who have a problem with intellectual honesty, as well as civility.
The reason David Horowitz frightens the Left so is that he WAS one of the 60s radical leaders, who began to see the truth about the Left when his friend was murdered by the Oakland Panthers. He knows how they operate, he studied Rules for Radicals, he knows their blind spots. I love his books, but I’m glad I’m not issuing his life insurance policy. The Left turned on David like a pack of rabid dogs, a reaction many “apostates” get when they leave the Liberal Church.
He realizes the depths this country will sink to if we allow them to seize complete control.
That was my point. Horowitz’ intellectual honesty forced him to leave his comfortable niche in the left. I went through the same transformation myself. It takes a lot of rationalization, or self deception or intellectual slovenliness to remain a leftist.
or freedom of speech
