How about simply no tax on property ownership or income? Seems what the founding fathers had in mind in the first place. Any time that you can tax property it is rent and removes the ownership.

You have described exactly what is coming and it’s less than one year away.

if conservatives do not get tough and make the tough decisions and elbow the progressives out of the game.,

It's laughable to think anyone in the GOP leadership has any balls to take the tough actions needed to restore this Republic. They are ALL weak men who have no idea the seriousness of the situation. They focus on what they can do to just keep the conservatives in their camp. They don't seek real solutions.

The left plays for keeps and will NOT give up their power. The end game will likely be a complete economic collapse and whatever chaos follows. I can't envision a civil war happening before any collapse. A majority of the Americian people are not yet fully aware of the absolute evil of the left.

I wish it was just a third.............

I can make a case on it being near one half....if you total up all taxes.

You are thinking of a National Sales Tax....or a Consumption Tax.

Actually I'd be all for that....for quite a few reasons. They could make some things exempt...food, medicine, Viagra...whatever....

Are you talking about income, sales, inheritance, corporate or other tax?

I’m all for the flat income tax if there are no exemptions.

One year away?

How do you know this?

REALLY?? And you know this how?

Just speaking from experience. When I was younger I was much more of a consumer than now. I already have already made most of the large purchases I will make in my life. Most of the seniors that I know are also pretty well settled in.

I’ve known for some time the left plays for keeps. I was literally shocked that the Nov. elections even occurred. I have just learned that the DOJ keeps a list of “extremists” which includes “survivalists” those who stock pile guns, ammo, and food and “Constitutionalists” which has a definition involving how one perceives executive orders, among other things. So, no doubt this site is monitored heavily! I cry when I think about this beautiful county being ripped apart this way. It’s a crime.

Yes, I had seen your reply earlier and agree. Bleak is the only word to describe things at the moment.

The only thing that gives me hope at the moment is a basic understanding of human nature. The opposition has their people unified for a moment because they are all fighting for the same thing. When they get it, the infighting will begin. Divisions will multiply until their very existence gets relegated to the back ground.

This would take time. Certainly couldn’t happen in our lifetime, except by divine intervention. I won’t lie! I’ve prayed hard for that!

As you have pointed out, even the long game is fraught with negatives.

WI is towing the line and I am encouraged by that...but they have a long hard road ahead and their very lives are at stake.

I can’t give up, though...evil is evil, no matter what form, and I don’t like it.

Mitch Daniels did it a couple of years ago and I hope we can move toward reform here in California.

The good mayor of San Jose, Chuck Reed, made a compelling case for change and the Firefighters accepted less pay and a few other things.

They got theirs slowly, we will get ours the same way.

The right says at least half of the people in the country don't even pay taxes and are bleeding the productive dry and that taxes are too high. There is also truth in this.

...

2) Every person pays the same amount, 10%, 15% I don't care, it's far cheaper than what we pay now and will bring in far more taxes.

So how do you get the 50% that currently pay nothing to go along with a system that requires them to pay?

Corporate income taxes should be abolished. Instead, require that earnings cannot be retained in the corporation for more than three years. This allows a reasonable rainy day, R&D, or M&A war chest, but ensures that profits are eventually distributed to shareholders or employees where they can be taxed as ordinary income.

When considering how to “save” the country, I don’t think you could do better than abolishing the corporate income tax and putting a flat income tax rate on individuals. Those two changes would make America the best place in the world to operate a business and employ people.
