What hit me was they said the Republicans were going to take over Chicago! Then, I realized they were talking about the convention! HA! I thought NO WAY! Republicans and Chicago?!

Michael Shayne, Private Detective is off to a good start. Never heard this before.

I am a fan of the Mike Shayne detective novels. Managed to acquire all ~70 or so of the old paperbacks on eBay and read them all. As a detective genre fan, I would say that the early novels were pretty good, then Brett Halliday (the nom de plume of patch-eyed Davis Dresser) became formulaic before then franchising out to other authors who ghosted under the Halliday name.

OK. Thanks for the reply. I thought there may be something like impedance that won’t allow this connection.
Well, there may be some way of hooking it up, but I think whatever that would be would probably dilute the tone quality of the tube radio.

Thanks again.

I’m fading. Will listen to the radio for the rest. Enjoy!

I’ve been thinking about it. The real way to do it is inject the stream into a transmitter, then broadcasting on a frequency that your radio can receive. This is easily done with FM xmtrs commercially available. Think baby monitors. AM might be more harder. Ha! Anything can be done.

The signal has to go through the tubes to get the cool sound. Otherwise you are just using the radio speaker. Thanks for engaging my idle mind.
