I agree. There’s no telling how this one will turn out.
It is my belief, however, that once a populace is given freedom, it cannot be taken away. There may be temporary clamps on it, but freedom will win out. It is the natural state of man.
We don’t control the winds of change. This is something W worked toward although he wanted an easier transition. It may not go smoothly but I believe the result will be positive.
Watch the video at the link. It’s not that the complaints are new. He’s been in power for 30yrs and the constitution has been suspended almost that long. This has been a long time coming.
I noticed they are putting out the “I told him so” statements like crazy!
People are sick of overbearing govt in general.
Yeah, thats a good comparison. Give me a break. It’s just like the Shah of Iran getting the boot. Look what they have now. Happy?
You’re not suppose to use profanity here. Bugger up is British for the “F” word. I am offended!

I agree. VDH did a great piece on the old institutions trying to hang on to their dwindling power. Th world is changing.
I didn’t know John is a good angler.
“Are the peoples of the Middle East somehow beyond the reach of liberty? Are millions of men and women and children condemned by history or culture to live in despotism? Are they alone never to know freedom and never even to have a choice in the matter?”... “Sixty years of Western nations excusing and accommodating the lack of freedom in the Middle East did nothing to make us safe - because in the long run, stability cannot be purchased at the expense of liberty,” “As long as the Middle East remains a place where freedom does not flourish, it will remain a place of stagnation, resentment and violence ready for export.” - GWBush
The American Revolution is almost entirely unique in world history.
The aspiration is wonderful, but so far in the Middle East, it has proven only to be an aspiration. Only in U.S. occupied Iraq has anything approaching ‘liberty’ been achieved. Far too often, as in Gaza and Lebanon, elections lead to the ascension of antidemocratic forces. Even long-secular Turkey is moving backwards. It is yet to be determined if Arab Muslim culture will ever be compatible with liberal democracy. I have my doubts. We wish the people of Egypt well, particularly the Coptic Christians, who have suffered so much, but revolutions are to be embraced with extreme caution; there was only one George Washington.
So you you are thinking this is more like when communism (Muslim Brotherhood) hijacked the Russian revolution than the American Revolution?
We are seeing a repeat of 1979 Iran when the Shaw fell.
Only this time it is going to get much worse especially if control of the Suez Canal falls into the hands of the radicals.
Not only will this hurt American citizens directly in the pocket book as gas and food prices rise it is also going to pose a great challenge to our military in places like Afghanistan trying to get supplies in.
This is real serious as without a powerful dictator Egypt will fall to the moslem brotherhood .
The revolution we needed to support but didn’t was the last student uprising in Iran. That one was for freedom from radical islam as they have spent so much time under it that they now know the lies and the horror of what it is to live under it. Christianity is spreading like wildfire in Iran right now and the government of Iran is going crazy trying to squash the house church movement that they can’t control.
This is what brings freedom to nations and our current occupant works against it.
BTW if you haven’t already you should be stocking up extras on staples because the price is going to go up like crazy.
America unlike most of the world has been blessed that very a very small percentage of our income has to be used to feed us compared to the percentage of income most of the world has to spend to feed itself . This is about to change as the price of fuel is with out a doubt going to greatly increase there by greatly increasing the cost to produce and transport that food. Add to this the fact that the weather has damaged many crops worldwide this year and it is a recipe for financial disaster even without taking into account that this administration has already basically bankrupted us.
Loss of control in Egypt will be really bad for Israel also as the areas will begin to attract many jihadis and they will eventually start pouring into Gaza .
