LOL. wben I was a kid, I knew two things about Ivory soap - that it floats, and what it tastes like.

I brush/rinse my teeth with hydrogen peroxide. Great germ killer and mouthwash all in one. Very gentle, as well.

Bingo! Haven’t had a single cavity in twenty five years after starting that regimen. Peroxide kills the germs, baking sofa changes the pH making bacteria less likely to flourish.

Baking soda and hydrogen proxide.
I removed a shower door from my bathtub and had a stain so bad that I thought I'd need a new tub.
Went on-line and found some had success with a mixture of two parts baking soda and one part hydrogen peroxide.
Put the mixture on the stain and two hours later it looked like a new tub. Unbelievable.

“Baking soda and hydrogen proxide.”

I like that best, too.

Making it last awhile, eh?

No such luck on my end. My hygienist is more of a Cruella DeVille type. Then there’s the flossing lecture and the inevitable “oral cancer screening” upsell question.

Somebody’s gotta pay for the new Porsche Cayman!

Are you suggesting maybe I should reconsider switching to soap for brushing?

Not at all. I was merely pointing out that anecdotal evidence isn't the keystone to a firm position. This is particularly the case when you've got a lengthy time period where the diet, behaviors, and technologies have dramatically changed.

In 1974, a three-year old child had fluoride gel placed on his teeth. The hygienist handed him a glass of water but rather than rising out his mouth, he drank it. A few hours later, he was dead.

What he doesn't tell you is that the kid was hit by a car.

If you want to use a soap product that does not taste so much like soap, try this:

http://www.roseofsharonacres.com/tooth_chips___soap_for_teeth

They have flavored soap chips and flavored liquid soaps with a taste that I have found much more pleasant than using plain mild soap.
