According to NCDC’s own data, 2010 was not the warmest year in the United States, nor even a tie

Well...we have the magic of high powered computers involved...so people tend to believe the high priests....
We have all been trained ... and it involves high powered Math...I was trained in that priesthood.

Well...see #14 for specifics from your locale...
By the way...it is really getting toasty here today ..going into the 80's ...
Big high pressure system going thru the Nevada Great Basin and the offshore winds warm up as they come over the Cajon pass....
Got to get out of here and feel the warmth outside.
Guess I should call my brother and ask him how his snow cover is doing in St. Louis....LOL!

Your in a dreaded global warming cycle. Meanwhile I keep turning up the heat to not shiver in my house as I gaze out on all the snow. I'll check out post #14 as requested. Enjoy the warm weather E..

Similar. Though it got tough typing on the consoles (root terminals) of ATT 3B20 systems. For two years I was involved in setting up all the process control systems used on our wafer fab lines. So I got a taste of working in large cold computer room complexes.

Actually right now Bastardi claims atmospheric temps have dropped so much the past month that we are now below average. IE - Right now the average ocean temps are below average as are the average atmosphere temps due to dramatic cooling. That cooling is based in part by the historically Strong La Nina we have right now. December has the highest SOI index (La Nina signal) since the figure began being calculated in 1876. It is also the highest recorded monthly La Nina SOI since November 1973. So Bastardi's claim that we are entering the 73-74 cool time frame once again, appears to be correct.
Extreme Weather across Globe with Strongest La Nina
Additionally, AccuWeather.com Chief Long Range Forecaster Joe Bastardi has noted that worldwide temperatures December into January are below normal.
Strong La Niña persists
A major La Niña event continues to affect the Pacific Basin. Long-range forecast models surveyed by the Bureau suggest that the La Niña is likely to persist into the southern hemisphere autumn.
....The Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) value for December of +27 is the highest December SOI value on record, as well as being the highest value for any month since November 1973.
This is a big story. The strongest La Nina signal in recorded history. We are now in 1973-1974 cold territory. So the significance about 2010 being the warmest ever recorded, did not even last 2 weeks into January 2011.

The bottom line for me isnt whether or not the globe is warming but rather whether or not warming is desireable. All the evidence points to warming being desireable. Cold sucks. ;)
I have decided that global warming will indeed be a serious matter when the ice cubes in my adult beverage are melting too quickly and diluting the drink.
Cheers!

Well, I'm late to the party as usual - but, I like the 'bottom line'
post on another page at
Watts up with that by Dr. Don J. Easterbrook...
"Its really much to do about nothing." We know all about the 'warming' hoax - and about being in the midst of current global cooling with snow in Orlando, Florida and crop loss in South Africa from record cold.
I just marvel that so many are deluded - but the growth of illiteracy perhaps explains it all.
