You obviously don't know a damned thing about Michigan. Do you think the entire state is like Detroit? GO F YOURSELF.
The problem is simple: who wants to go to college in Ann Arbor, MI, when the winters are cold and miserable? That’s why a lot of “blue chip” college football recruits are going to colleges in warmer climates—notably schools of the (former) Big 12 South and SEC.
RichRod was — is? — just not a good coach in a high-stakes program like UM’s. I don’t know who UM will bring on board. Jim Harbaugh would be a great fit, but he may have other interests on his horizon (such as coaching a pro team).

A video of RR’s evaluation by d. Brandon has been secreted out and is now available at the link above
Have you ever been in the Palo Alto area in the middle of winter? It’s very nice. Harbaugh makes plenty of money, and he’ll get a big raise if he stays; and he can actually live his life without being under a microscope..
Look for more an more top Texas players going to the PAC-10 (soon to be PAC-12); especially Oregon and Oregon State.
Most players stay around school year round to train and take summer classes. Summers in the Pacific NW can’t be beat; and no school has better facilities for players than Oregon. If a HS QB wants to play in the NFL, the PAC-10 is the place to be.
That’s nice. My point was that only Detroit sucks...most of my state is very beautiful. The summers are short, but during that time, the beaches along Lake Michigan are awesome. The statement (by another poster) that no coach would come here is absurd.
Oh, and “...plenty of money” is totally relative to each person’s situation. Harbaugh may want to ensure that his grandkids are rich, too. :)
Okay, that's funny. What are you basing that on? Michigan has the biggest stadium in the country...newly renovated and awesome. We also have a HUGE indoor practice facility that is second to none, and top-notch training facilities. I guess everyone thinks "ours is better". I respect he Oregon program and will be pulling for the Ducks in the NC game, but Michigan has resources that far beyond that of Oregon.
Stadiums are for fans; and Autzen Stadium is ranked as one of the top five college fotball experiences.
The U of Oregon has the best locker room and training facilities in college football; and it isn’t even close.

No kidding (see above link). Phil Knight had definitely taken care of his alma mater and it pays off in recruiting.
Oregon is also starting to build a new football practice and meeting facility:
Ever hear of Phil Knight and Nike - your team wears his company’s logo.
Who does Michigan have that can compete with him?
BTW, Knight built the university library, most of the new basketball arena (chief donor of the $200 million facility) and is funding a $41 million expansion and remodeling of the Casanova Center.
