Another fairly amazing song from about the same time (IIRC, at the saem time, maybe a month or two apart) is Itchycoo Park by the Small Faces.

Seriously REO TWO is one of the greatest under appreciated Rock & Roll Albums of all time. Guest appearance by Boots Randolph on Little Queenie. My first two CD’s on any road trip is REO TWO and the First Gin Blossoms.

Screw the speed limit and the rest stops, I’m driving through.

I've been hitting the treadmill and listening to 70's and 80's rock...so when Sammy Hagar's Your love is driving me crazy starts, I jump off the treadmill and dance. Just love that song.

Oh man, lucky you. I’d have loved to have seen them, especially during their (’68 - ‘72) prime like you did. But I started going to concerts right around the time they called it quits (in ‘76).

Saw them first time in 1970, Flag Day, and got to know them (Robbie, Danko, Garth and Levon) a little bit. (My son knows Levon and Garth real well, played and recorded with them at Levon’s house/studio in Woodstock a few years ago.) I saw them with Dylan twice too. A bunch of times in 71-74 period. Saw the re-worked group in the 1990s after Manuel died (the “Atlantic City” group) but before Danko ODed. Anyway, back in the day, they were the best. That first show I saw, a week before I saw Crosby Stills Nash and Young. The Band made them look like teenage wannabes.

(P.S. When they announced the Last Waltz show in SF, Rolling Stone mag critcized them because they were charging a whopping $25 for the show and dinner. How much would you or I pay to see that show live today!)

“Piece in Your Life”

From David Asman

A true conservative rocker

Lyric excerpt:

“God is scorned
Pagans are right
Children have no right to life
When up is down, black is right
How you get some piece in your life?”

I used to play a bit in a Gamelan orchestra. It’s incredible when live.

There’s lots more Youtube of course.

Of course I can’t dance the dances but in my mind I could...

I love to boogie to “Bang-A-Gong (get it on)” by T-Rex.
Back in the day when I was roller skating, there was no better song to skate to than the Temptation’s “Ball of Confusion”.
