You can. Criminals do all the time. You might get harassed by cops or lowlifes. But that's a gut check thing. What is your freedom worth?
I've pretty much got a measure of what it means to you. ######################################
You have no idea what my freedom means to me and what personal price has been paid for it. My point about the 2nd Amendment was the irony of D.C. and CC laws.
Its been long and expensive trips from Colorado, and fruitless so far. How is this time going to be different from the others?
***************
That was my point. I am reading others comments about keeping at the protests but we are retired and have to choose carefully. I’m going with preparation but if we ever decide to do the D.C. thing, we should carpool. We are in NM, neighbor.
We all should at least have the degree of steadfastness and resolve that these citizens had....what an example!

We do, it’s called the TEA PARTY and those of us in that group vary in our way of thinking but all work for the same goal. Some want to attend D.C. and some want to use our money in other ways. It’s America!
Obama & the Left hopes we will be content to continue faxing, e-mailing, calling, and spending our money in D.C. for rallies. It means they can go on ignoring us.

annie, you are sooooo right!
When the people STOP talking is when the gov’t will fear us most.
As the author of the piece in reference, I can tell you that the others did work to a degree.
*********
Yes, they certainly did and I hope this one wows them so I will watch for more details and best of luck.
It’s a growing-up process for all of us but we need to mature quickly. We are behind in this political takeover.
I was there on 9/12 and 4/15/10. We did have an effect on Pelosi, et al. Unfortunately that effect was to convince them that though we were much more numerous than they believed, it also led them to see that if they simply ignore us and make these criminal laws, we have no real peaceful way of stopping them.
I will not give up fighting this peacefully. But I don’t believe we can win it that way. I honestly believe that, in the final analysis, it will come down to one of two scenarios. Capitulation by the majority of the general populace (which is what is taking place right now), or physical resistance by a significant minority, i.e. rebellion. I hope it doesn’t come to rebellion, but I believe that is better than submitting to despotism.
I rode a busses to Washington DC on 9/12, again for the healthcare vote, and then again for the Glenn Beck rally. I spent time and money-both of which I have little these days. Unfortunately, I too feel it produced nothing but warm fuzzy feelings for us.
If I went again, it would need to be for something quite different. Some type of civil disobedience.
“If we fail at this, there will only be one outcome: civil war.”
We got a few more trick to try, tricks which must be implemented before it will even be possible to move on to more forceful means.
Frankly i don’t think Civil War will ever be necessary, as there are smarter ways to go about achieving a peaceful secession. Namely make the other side want to see you go.(That can be as easy as using the common tool to drive them crazy or more specially their radicals to desire such a separation, and the moderates to desire it to go peaceful rather then endure the horrific cost of bloodshed.)
It should be easy as there is no driving issue like slavery which morally motivates one side to fight to impose something on the other.
Yes, but it will be a battle getting there. The democrates are not going to hand it over...and if they are too agreeable I would be highly suspecious!
I do think most are at this place as well...but they will not be afraid if the time comes to take it further if all else fails. It's like any war...."there comes a time."...and we as a country will do all we can to prevent that conflict in every peaceful way possible...at the same time knowing we can, if no other options are avaiable, take up arms and revolt. Praying that will never be necessary.
I refuse to leave a country that is worse than it was when I was a child as a legacy for my children and their children!! >:-(

Then you have a lot of fixing to do.
Regardless of how this plays out, it will not end with us. My children and grandchildren will carry on long after I’m gone.
Doh! You’re right, thanks for correcting that, for some reason I was thinking of the wrong spelling. Thanks, again.
Thanks for the spelling correction guy(s)/gal(s). It had been a long day, haha.
