If you have a VIN, I believe you can do a CarFax and see where it is now.

*drool*

I actually had a convertible given to me in 1972, but I never got to drive it. The person who gave it to me suddenly died and his wife sold it before I could go pick it up.

Not in as good a shape as this one, but still...

Some I loved, some I hated. Hated my first car when Dad gave it to me, cried when I wrecked it.

1. 1970 Buick LeSabre Dad bought it new, gave it to me in 76.
2. 1974 Triumph Shi-er-Spitfire. What a piece of spit.
3. 1976 Ford Granada Totalled it after 2 weeks (good riddance)
4. 1965 VW beetle. 3 1/2 years out of a $500.00 car. Not bad.
5. 1984 VW Rabbit GTI. My first new car.
6. 1988 Dodge Dakota truck. Sold it in 98 with 105,000 miles and the guy who bought it drove it until 2007.
7. 1989 Dodge Colt (by Mitsubishi) The people who made the WWII Zero's revenge on America.
8. 1998 Chevy truck. No frills, just your basic work truck. Got totalled in 2000
9. 2000 Chevy Silverado Good truck except for that 50 cent connector on the gas tank that would have cost $450.00 to replace.
10. 2000 Chevy Cavalier. No problems, just didn't like the car.
11. 2004 Chevy Impala. Should have kept this one.
12. 2007 Nissan Titan. Enough torque to pull the panties off a nun. Love it.
13. 2008 VW Beetle-wanna-be (New Beetle) convertible. SIX different warranty repairs in 1 1/2 years. Can you say Mexican built German Car?
14. 2010 Ford Focus. Wife's car (replacing the 2008 VW) and she loves it.
15. and my baby. 1969 VW Beetle Convertible that I am in the final steps of a body off restoration.

“It is an unwritten rule of life that your first car must be a beater, your second car is the one you wish you still had when you are 40.”

My father would love this. His first car was a ‘73 Plymouth Duster with the 198 Slant Six and a three-on-the-tree transmission. It was totally stripped. Vinyl seats, rubber floormats, no radio. Car was extremely reliable, but like all Chryslers of that era had terrific rust problems.

He replaced it with a new Dodge Charger (the Omni-based L-body one) in 1982, which he had up to 1997. A fun car, but a lot of Charger purists hate them.

“AMERICAN STEEL greatness... awesome.”

Has anyone else noticed that liberals attacked American cars for years (like in the far-left Consumer Reports), but now since the creation of Government Motors, they can’t get enough of them?
