The scene where they are hiding in the cave and she falls asleep and he shakes her awake and then you can tell by looking into her eyes that it is no longer her... still one of the all time scariest moments in a movie.

I never saw Invasion of the Body Snatchers—either version—but in 79 or 80, Sat Night Live did a spoof called
Invasion of the Brain Snatchers. They had people bringing in pods or pillows with the “Reagan” logo on them in an effort
to brainwash hippies to vote for the Gipper. One folk singer
sang to the tune of “Blowin in the Wind”, “The answer my
friend/Is Ronald Reagan/ The answer is Ronald Reagan”
