Cover to a collection of Beatles-related novelty songs put out by Rhino records. The artist included Chapman, seen on the left. After complaints, Rhino changed the cover but the artist defended his decision to put Chapman on the cover, online.
There is only one incident that I remember clearly. Howard Cosell said something, and you could hear Simpson start to growl (a sound like that). Then he said, very darkly:
"Howard, you have a great grasp for the obvious."
It was mean, and not meant with humor. The mood in that booth must have gone black, because no one said anything for about a minute.
Simpson was a psycho then, and he is a psycho now.
Reaction to OJ Simpson's not guilty verdicts
Stout did a lot of other famous bootleg album covers:
He also did other legit work:
This is one of his latest:
Here it is via rutlemania.org

In part:
“The more I thought about it however, the more I realized
one horrible truth: in the darkest depths of a thing called Fandom, Mark David Chapman is the ultimate Beatles fan. He collected and (in his own mind)...became one of the Beatles. Chapman completes the range of fans shown on the cover.

“I have refused to alter Chapman’s face as requested by
Rhino Records so it will _not_ appear on the back cover. The ‘Beatlesongs’ cover was created out of anger, a sense of loss, and a sense of John’s own sardonic humor.”

Well technically it was in a press release at the time, but that release is now available online. See above
What’s wrong with those hateful crackers in not cheering a gross, racist travesty of justice, in acquitting a serial killer.
