Denver Cops Again - beat a man, news story and raw video of the incident

it would be interesting to see how they went from talking to the guy to beating the guy up.

Then you say:

Stepping into the middle of it and basically inferring that the cops were lying was not a good plan.

Ya have no idea, then suddenly ya know...

Of course we know when he was attacked by the cops he was not stepping in the middle of anything.

Now I see where the confusion lies in this discussion. Let's break the events down chronologically for clarification:

Part I - The Motorist

a) Violation occurs
b) Cops pull him over/Discussion
c) Ticket is issued/ Victim (the guy who got beat up) supplies info to Motorist
d) Cops tell Victim to back off Motorist leaves.

Part II - The Victim

a) Discussion (this is where the video starts)
b) Issue ticket/agitated discussion
c) Victim pulls out cell phone to record
d) Cops beat the crap out of him

I trust you agree that those are a quick summary of what occurred.

Now for clarification: When I said: "Stepping into the middle of it and basically inferring that the cops were lying was not a good plan.

I was referring to the victims involvement at part I.c

When I said: "it would be interesting to see how they went from talking to the guy to beating the guy up."

I was referring to Part II going from b to d.

The first video I saw (from the news station) was edited and skipped over some points, which became clear in the long video.

Now two points:

1. The cops are clearly wrong in this whole scenario and deserve whatever punishment they get.

2. The victim did nothing wrong, per se. However, had he waited while the cops gave the motorist the ticket and then after the cops left he could have given the motorist his contact info and the entire altercation would have been avoided.

I hope that clears things up, if not, then we are done.

COLD!! This event was already history, and the motorist was gone.

You were doing so good....Damn!

All that about the motorist and the ticket already occurred.. That was all history.....Watch the video....The motorist already left the scene, as the motorist is not even visible in the video.

What have we learned here?

Watching the video we learned the cops did not assault the man for disrupting or obstructing officers during a traffic stop. (((Not what happened kids))).

What we learned by the video was dog walker was not assaulted because he "jumped in the middle of it" as you suggested in #15, but was likely assaulted for merely pulling out his cell phone and recording the officers...

The dog walker was not assaulted because he "jumped in the middle of it" as you suggested in #15, (your words) but was likely assaulted for merely pulling out his cell phone and recording the officers... The traffic stop was not why he was assaulted, as the assault occurred long after that incident.

But feel free to play victim now...

Basically it’s what the admins themselves think is important....

local news HAS made FR front page and breaking news before...

Admins are so cocky lately and I dont’ understand why...

not all of course but it’s annoying....I used to could come to FR for all kinds of breaking news....and now I have to dig and dig in FR to find anything....Breaking news is not updated enough in IMHO...

Oh and I was also informed that sports doesn’t get breaking news coverage either...not even the Roger Clemens indictment... and that based on one Admins opinion...who said NO sports should be there period....

I just wish there were consistent rules...
