Judging from the rhetoric, he has some type of relationship to the Marxist-Communist ELAS, KKE, and or Tito supported Communist insurgents fighting in the Greek Civil War.
A Greek acquaintance once described how he believed the U.S. foreign aid and military advisors to the Greek National Army saved his life.
When he was a baby, Communist insurgents raided his village, kidnapped all of the women and children, and forced them on a deadly march into the mountains in an effort to force march them into Bulgaria. Due to the malnutrition during the German occupation of Greece and the postwar civil war, his mother lacked enough breast milk to keep the baby well fed and quiet on the forced march. The other women tried to help quiet the crying with some sugar and water, but the impatient Communist commander was threatening to use his knife to cut the baby’s throat and kill him then and there.
This move was brough to an abrupt halt when the pickets gave an alarm to the commander, and he ordered his men to surround the group of women and children and prepare to shoot all of them. Another messenger delivered warning that the National Army was too close in front of them and behind them on the mountain trail to execute their hostages. The commander ordered his men to instantly abandon their hostages and escape farther up the mountain slope off of the mountain trail. Right behind the insurgents, the National Army patrols appeared along the trail with an American military adviser among the Greek patrols. The rescued hostages were escorted safely home, and my acquaintance expressed his lifelong gratitude for the role the Americans played in saving the lives of himself, his family, and his neighbors in the village.
Ping for later.
