I have been to New England and the NE a few times and even lived there for a while, I know a little about New Englanders. Most of them have a superior attitude that comes off as appearing that they think they are better smarter and just generally superior to the rest of us. They don't have to be rich or Harvard educated to have this superior attitude but I guess it is sort of a filtered down attitude from the rich Harvard types. I have a European born friend who lived in the NE US for 20 years and she has this attitude, but she could have brought it from Europe. Freepers are excluded of course.

You don't find a great deal of humility among the people of new England...

Whenever I see someone like that in the grocery store; it brings me great joy. It tells me that the circus must be in town, and I like the circus...lots of fun.

...whenever I'm asked the zip code, I spit out 82224. It's centered around Lost Springs, Wyoming, which is one of the most sparsely populated parts of the country. I've passed that zip code on to family and friends over the years in hopes they will do the same. It's amusing to think about the head-scratching that must go on when retailers try to figure out why so many people from that area are apparently visiting their stores.
You've got a wicked sense of humor there SamAdams...

True. Anyone can shop anywhere. But it IS more true than not that those who regularly shop at Whole Foods often make a point of it, as though it is somehow more meaningful than shopping elsewhere. This, in spite of the studies done that show Whole Foods not being any “healthier,” and less clean and fresh than other supermarkets. All that in order to pay more money! Go figure

I ventured into Whole Paycheck one time only. I wanted to try ramps (wild leeks) and they were the only store that had them, but my experience parallels yours.
Way over priced for food that rots on the checkout belt.

You wanted me to be a freak who is afraid to have pics available and I am not.
Why not post some pics of you?

Fine..I'm a liar. I did not see any picture that were labeled with your name. There were plenty of pictures, but I couldn't figure out which one was you. I assume one with a gun. Why are you so hostile? You know, we're both old timers on FR, we are not enemies. I just don't like when people make rash generalizations about people based solely on their looks. The younger people are different these days, but to assume they aren't intelligent or hard working because they have some piercings (I'm not talking about the freakish pics that were posted on this thread) or tattoos is just wrong.
It's only fair to share a picture of me. Hildy's Facebook page

Sometimes one can really tell a lot about a book by it's cover, like the inability to make good decisions.

I can’t believe I’m continuing this ridiculous argument. I responded to someone who said he saw shoppers at Whole Foods had SOME piercings. The operative word being SOME. Lots of young people have a lip pierced or a nose pierced. I wasn’t talking about the total freakish people you keep referring to. I personally know geniuses who have some piercings. It’s not a big deal. And with that, I’m going to say enough. If it’s that important to you to win this argument...fine...you are right, you win, I was wrong. Geez.
