I would like to promote of the idea of sending liberals and many CongressCritters packing. So doing things on FreeRepublic to help that (in terms of the format of the Forum).
We currently have, under the News Topics, two topics under Hot Topics -- Anthrax and the War on Terror.
I wonder how hot a topic ANTHRAX is these days -- especially to have its own topic.

I so, I suggest calling it :
Tea Party movment
... nothing that makes it sound like a single group.

Maybe it is a good reason why we should not to give anyone ideas... De-list it as a hot topic.

That would be a good name for a
FreeRepublic Topic.
We might as well do some brainstorming in this discussion.
I like that -- calling a FreeRepublic topic: the Tea Party Movement

Oh, I only had to have the shots because some people have already gotten those ideas...and I live kind of near them.

Well, then I vote for “CWII” as a hot topic.

Id like to see an 8/28 - Restoring Honor topic. This gathering could dwarf last year’s 9-12 rally.
To: topher
I'd vote "NO".
Keyword it or something. TEA Party is better off / more powerful being a loose-knit association of individuals.

It’s at the top my hot topics page.
Go into your config and change your setting to reflect it.
And don’t ask me how, I don’t know how it got there anyway.

There is only one opinion that matters when it comes to running/formatting FreeRepublic.
Have you asked him?
...I believe he would be receptive.
I suggest you ask him about a 'Mitt Romney Sucks' topic at the same time to better your chances.
To: bigbob
I pay zero attention to the hot topics list.I didn't even know there was one.
So, I decided to make flippant comments. :)

I suggest a hot topic of:
RINO HUNTERS
When a Rino is discovered, he/she could be added to the list along with all the reasons making him/her a Rino.
Someone would need to be the keeper of the official list and keep it updated.

Spell it right. T.E.A. party. The TEA part stands for something: Taxed Enough Already. Capitalizing, as in Tea Party, not only loses that emphasis, it makes it look like a political party more than a movement.

If you look under "browse by forum", there is a News/Activism Forum. I am referring to "Topics" under News/Activism.
For example, some people like to look at the "Breaking News Forum" to see what is considered really important (8.3 earthquake in Japan, someone in Congress dies, etc).
This is on the right hand column on FreeRepublic -- towards the top.
The "Hot Keywords" on the top Left side...

I don't see "Anthrax." I see various Tea Party groups and since the WOT is still going on, I don't know why it wouldn't remain a hot topic.
Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing?

Maybe there needs to be a T.E.A. FAQ group or T.E.A. FAQ keyword. The keywords used by FreeRepublic do not reflect the origin of the T.E.A. Party Movement.
And though people might like to refer back to the folks in the 1770's, relaying the fact that we are Taxed Enough Already is important...
