yes of course it matters...while they are growing up...but Bristol Palin is a young mother making decisions for herself now....but I will say again you cannot blame bad kids on their parents. I’ve seen terrible parents whose kids made honor rolls and went out in life and are successful today. One especially comes to mind from my hometown....father was the town drunk, beat his son and tore him down...today the son has a wonderful family and is a Doctor Of Medicine. Nobody would have imagined this possible.

All of them are successful in private life. As long as his association ended in 2001, that is good enough for me.
I would be more worried about a person that has lived off the taxpayers for a number of years.
