I must admit, I’ll be torn between Germany and Holland if they make the final.
Part of me would like to see the Dutch win it, because they deserve to get one after all these years of such great football.

Probably next to Bergkamp’s goal against the Argies in 98, that was the best goal in Dutch WC history.

Some nasty diving by Cavani... one would think Italy was playing, but it’s Uruguay.

Forlan ties it up!!!!
The Dutch keeper should have been able to get a hand on that one.

The US was eliminated in the Round of 16 by Ghana, not sure exactly what you are asking.

Yes, bad mistake by the Dutch keeper. The Dutch seem strangely reluctant. Looking forward to the second half…

Both captains score from distance in an even game.
But one needs to have their nut cracked. I think Holland has more chances.
Some of the Dutch looked depressed going in the lockers at halftime though.

Some fans are really getting into the games:

It’s over now.
Holland is now virtually in the Would Cup finals.

Did you see Princess Máxima and her husband Crown Prince William of the Netherlands in the VIP audience?
Máxima was born and raised in Argentina. She learned Dutch while dating the Prince. William will succeed his mother, Queen Beatrix.

I wonder how the South Africans must feel about the Dutch being in the finals? I’m sure the Afrikaaners must be thrilled.

It’s Over 3-2 Holland.
Where is all that talk about South American dominance now?
It will be an All-Europe Final!

Interesting question. One day, they claimed on tv here that the “white” sport in South Africa was Rugby. Not sure if that is true…

The Afrikaners are mostly of Dutch extraction, so the white South Africans will probably back Holland. Even the black South Africans will likely back the Dutch (quite a few of black South Africans can still speak Afrikaans).
In the finals, I don't see the locals backing Spain. If it's Germany in the finals, the Dutch will still get most of the local support, even if quite a few of the whites are of German extraction too.

Also this guarantees that there will be a European champion for the first time ever in a WC held outside of Europe.
