Choose any major manufacturer Mossburg, Remington, Winchester, Baretta, etc and get a 12 gauge pump shotgun with a 20 inch barrel. Then buy some “double 00” (double ought) shells. Then learn how to handle the weapon. Also teach your wife and children. The recoil may be bad for small people.

I also like the double barreled shotguns with the 20 inch barrels. I think “Coachman” is a brand name. Doubles are simple to operate and anyone can learn to shoot it . Point and pull the triggers. I will stop anything that walks on two legs.

Hope this helps.

Saiga 12 shottie, with a few 12 round stick magazines and I recommend a 20 shot drum.

Put on a folding stock, with the necessary US parts to keep the ATF away.

Buy a case of #1 buckshot and a case of slugs.

Practice. Practice. More Practice.

Why practice with a shotgun? Because you can miss with a shotgun.

And dont buy the bs about birdshot. Do not depend on it for home defense. Birdshot is for birds.

00 buckshot is for home defense.

For home only, the Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun.

But a pistol can go portable if you need to go to market or meet UN food trucks etc.

20 Gauge is fine. Use 00 buck for your close shots. Get some type of slugs for longer shots. Buy ammo and practice.

Claymores lining the approaches to your home, angled for interlocking coverage. Video and infrared surveillance to indicate when to activate them.

If you are a liberal....stay out of the shower (doing what comes naturally) the resultant stench will keep all predators away...

If not a lib... then follow instructions on this thread.

300 Win Mag is my weapon of choice.

But then I have a freezer full of elk that I’m happy to share with my neighbors. And I can get plenty more...

Why not plan for home defense whether we have a complete meltdown or not?
