I'm shocked! I never knew this and asking around, no one else knew it either. That's lettings quite a few children slip through the cracks. If I were a parent of a missing child (knock wood) I'd be very upset if there wasn't an Amber Alert.
However, it turns out that apparently each state sets the guidelines for when it is appropriate to issue an Amber Alert --- so MAYBE some states do require a vehicle description? I know I've read this MANY times.

Their theory makes it understandable why so many homes & property in an area relatively near to the school are alleged to have been searched 3 times that we know of, and why many families have been interviewed many many many times.
When one reads about the utter lack of any security in this school, it seems to me entirely possible that any number of RSOs would have noticed that quite quickly, too???
Kaine is indeed strange. He doesn’t seem to have answers to the simplest of questions. The more I read on this the weirder this whole thing gets.
Many schools have no security per say. Kyron’s school is small and small schools, wise or not, are more trusting of visitors. Our small school has video cameras but that’s it. We have unlocked outside doors all over and nothing but a sign asking visitors to report to the office. Of course, no one goes to the office unless they need to talk to the principal. People come and go all the time and if teachers know the parent/person walking down the hallway, they don’t even question why you’re there.
That said, I still wonder about the doctor’s appointment. Kaine states he doesn’t know if it’s been verified yet. Yet? Six weeks later and he hasn’t picked up a phone to ask the doctor? Surely the LE has verified it along with the teacher’s statement that Terri had told her but still, one would think Terri would have to sign him out and the teacher have an office slip. That’s how we do it here and it should be standard procedure to cover the school’s behind.
I have wondered about a second party. This case is getting weirder and weirder.
HOW did Terri get her red mustang??? Kaine had driven that car to work at Intel. AND who was speeding in the white truck?
I suspect that the reason that they want to interview families with pickup trucks is due to these early eyewitness accounts.
Another peculiar story is that a fishwoman allegedly saw someone in a white truck put something into the water?????

Over the past couple days more suspicion towards the dad is being discussed at IS. It's interesting to me that many Kaine fans seem to have vanished from IS? They seemed quite active all along, but currently appear mute. Just one more oddity in a seemingly infinite list of oddities.
I was quite perplexed that the surveillance videos from stores & highways wasn't requested IMMEDIATELY, which leads me to believe that there is a possibility that LE engaged in tunnel vision at the start of the investigation. Also, I don't recall any other cases I've followed where LE never held press conferences and apparently has absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to share with the public.
Say, if you happen to run across the direct quotes from Kaine chatting about how Kyron is probably somewhere with a family, will you post them here? I can't recall which time he said something about he was sure that his son was alive, that he might be with a family -- OR something; the folks at IS are curious about this, too.
Today at WS there is an interesting, already 5 page long thread about remote viewer Ed Dames and the report he voluntarily compiled about the present location of Kyron.
Also, in the news today the LEOs instructed the MSM to email them any questions they have, and some of these questions will be answered in an upcoming press conference.
Interestingly.... Kaine Horman was at the Portland Police Department for 3 hours last night, I guess from 6-9 pm. Neither he, nor the LEOs would say why he was there or anything that transpired at that time.
Makes me wonder if they are still doing lie detector exams???
So.... VERY slow news day, but the thread about Ed Dames predicting that he'd be located on private property ten miles south of Skyline Elementary is an interesting thread to read.

On the matter of Kaine. Maybe Terri’s PPD was totally out of hand & if Kaine had heard any rumors about the landscaper he may have been terrified for his own & Kyron’s safety, plus the daughter & stepson (The stepson HAD been sent to his grandparents)- perhaps he even suggested sending Kyron to Desiree - that would have pushed Terri’s buttons.
Something was the catalyst for this tragedy.
Turns out that at least one poster in the very first threads wondered if Terri was trying to protect someone in her own family, either her son or her dad.
So even by 6/6 or thereabouts, plenty of posters were presumably already finding her behavior very peculiar.
Like you, I wonder what role severe PPD may have played, and if she was severely depressed, she could have misinterpreted all manner of events. I've read some posters wonder if she felt like the "House Nanny" - and that would be particularly difficult to deal with if one had severe PPD and/or one was 'certain' that her husband was having an office affair.
Quite a few posters today mentioned that one does NOT send a teenaged stepson to his grandparents, there were LOTS of parents in blended families who were adament about this.
Fact is, though, it seems that James is allegedly doing spectacularly well and his stepmom is teaching him all about horses, so it seems to be an ideal home environment??????
Frankly, I seriously worry that this was a stranger abduction and that it is way too late to switch the focus of investigation.
I can't begin to imagine how anyone could harm a child they've raised since it was a tiny toddler??????
I admit that if any of the adults write personal accounts of this vile experience, that I will be inclined to purchase copies & read them, there are simply so many enigmas....

There was another recent article regarding the doctor’s appointment which I cannot locate.
So, now his little friend knew of the “appointment.” Well, well, well. No matter what date it supposedly was, it sounds like Kyron told his friend he was leaving with Terri. No wonder Terri ran out on one of the lie detectors. With the various sources saying she/they left between 8:45 - 9:30 that only leaves about 4 hours for whatever happened to when the pictures were posted. That’s IF she posted them from HER home computer and IF she had anything to do with the disappearance.
Does anyone know if she was on HER computer earlier than 1:21 and what all did she say about the pictures? What was her mood at that time?
With all the goofy LE reports, the parents playing dumb and lying about themselves and each other, and the 4 hour window of opportunity... I dunno, but maybe there is something to this third party business. Whatever, I feel for Kyron for having to put up with such a circus of fools in his little life.
