Kyron Horman Stepmom in Murder-for-Hire Plot? (CBSnews-mobile)

KATU.com Mobile Edition -- DHS opened a case on Kyron's stepmom years ago

"......A source confirmed late Sunday afternoon that the Oregon Department of Human Services opened a case on Terri Horman following a 2005 arrest and charge of driving under the influence. Her biological son, who was 11 at the time, was in the car when his mother was arrested. As such, Horman also was convicted of reckless endangerment of that son. Horman pleaded guilty in that incident. She had her license suspended for a month and a half, and served out a 12-month probation for those convictions."

Well, really, until I read the article about the drunk driving, which was after I saw all those videos of her competing in a bodybuilding competition, where her appearance is markedly different from today -- she didn't necessarily strike me as anything more than a rather plain overweight chubby-faced noticably aging pale middleaged woman.

Ya know?

Whereas .... Susan Smith's hystrionics didn't carry the *ring* of truth, there was something akilter, something "off" about her --- which isn't in evidence with Kyron's biological mother.

This morning an FBI profiler mentioned that IF the landscaper's report is true, then it shows that Terri has a serious clinical personality disorder, as only a psychopath would try to hire a hitman.

Thanks for the ping.

I imagine this info has been leaked because it explains the filing for divorce and the restraining order.

This body-building stepmom is a sinister character. Hmmmm. Come to think of it, body building and steroid abuse go hand-in-hand, and steroid abuse is known to cause personality and other behavioral changes.

Supposedly, the police believe the boy is alive. Is it some sort of convoluted kidnapping for ransom scheme?

Thanks much for this link. I see that they’d been averaging 400+ comments per Kyron Story — UNTIL the one in your link, and there’s already over 1000 comments.

I don't know, isn't that just the strangest thing? Typically the LEOs believe a missing person is dead within hours, and here the direct opposite is true.

What really struck me is how they had the bio-mom come out and demand that Terri Moulton help the investigation find Kyron.

I presume the authorities instructed her what to say . . . .

Earlier I've seen postings wondering whether she sold him, but your idea of a kidnapping/ransom plot planned by her sounds more logical.

At the link that sodpoodle provided, there was a bit of discussion about how it is MANDATORY that the LEOs start searching post haste for her boyfriend -- that it's soooo likely she has a boyfriend, and when they identify & locate him, perhaps the location of Kyron will be discovered.

I wonder if Nancy Grace is LIVE, tonight???

I doubt she'd want to take the night off with news like this breaking over the holiday weekend --- and frankly, who knows what all else has transpired today????

Missed the impact of a *boyfriend* aspect - and I thought I read that long, detailed article thoroughly. I believe her body-building dedication shows that this woman is capable of being both patient and focused. A hit on hubby or a ransom plan on Kyron would require both.

That she was willing to give up her 16 year-old bio son; shows her family members are dispensible and could indicate a new LOVE interest. (Ann Rule’s Small Sacrifices -Diane Downs)

Life insurance on the spouse or ransom for Kyron have one possible side benefit: MONEY!

Hi there!

I didn't read that bit about "she MUST have a boyfriend --- WHERE is he?" in the long article; rather it was on page 10 or 13 of the 1,000++ comments to the article.

Was it determined why her son went to go live with his dad? I can't remember if details were about this were ever released.

The posters who were discussing the article were saying that the LEOs should STOP searching that island, and forget about any gyms, but instead go to the TWINKIE aisle of her local grocery store, as that's where she probably met a new beau.

LOL

Trying to watch an episode of the Office and escape reality;)

One report mentioned Kaine had problems with the step-son and sent him to his bio father - but IIRC he is staying with the grandparents (Moultons).

re the landscaper. Step-mom hired him without Kaine’s knowlege to do the lawn chores instead of the teenager. It was probably during the chat sessions that she complained about the husband and may have said something like: “I wish he were dead” etc., etc., Landscapers are often asked to get rid of snakes and other pests.

Thanks for the heads up, I've been reading 1000s of postings at IS/WS and had no idea about any reported sighting. How sad for the family.

Say.... do any of you all happen to know if there is something called .... something like "Fantasy Prone Personality" --- something which is DIFFERENT from Psychopathic Liar?

In my recent readings at WS and IS, it seems to be the general conclusion, except for a very very very few posters that "OBVIOUSLY" Terri Moulton Horman is responsible for the disappearance of Kyron, and "OBVIOUSLY" she has murdered him, and that "OF COURSE" she is a clinical sociopath/psychopath murdering homocidal wicked witch stepmother.

However..... just where are the Pure FACTS to substantiate any of these conclusions? What EVIDENCE do they base this upon?

For instance, what EVIDENCE did the landscaper present to LEOs that she ever tried to hire a hitman? Don't I recall that there are LOTS of cases where weirdos try to insert themselves into high profile cases, but they really have NOTHING to do with the crime, nothing whatsoever, that they are "Attention Hogs"?

At first I was swayed by the horrendously negative online commentary about Terri, but then I came across the information that she has not only a college degree, but also went to graduate school for a masters in education.

So...... is it not possible that some of her social akwardness is not due to sociopathology, but rather to geeky high IQ "aspergers" type phenomenon??? Does social akwardness mean that one is GUILTY???

Anyway, I really would like to know WHY the LEOs seem to believe that Kyron is still alive??????????

I am starting to seriously entertain the idea that this woman is NOT a psychopath and is NOT psychotic, but that she's living in some type of parallel narcissistic fantasy filled universe where She Is A Hero, a Superhero Mom, and that maybe maybe maybe she did orchestrate his disappearance, but that it was supposed to end quickly and her motivation in doing so was supposed to publicize HER as 'such a wonderful loving stepmother' and that this "fame" would follow her into her bodybuilding competition next month and have a Very Positive Impact Upon the Judges. (i.e., Oh L@@K, there is Kyron's mother --- isn't she BEAUTIFUL??)

There are LOTS of people who tell lies all the time, I've run into plenty of that "type" of person who is continually making up stories about all sorts of things, ALL the time, compulsively --- but surely not ALL of the people who seem to continually blather & blather & blather nonsensical fantasitical stories about ANYTHING are actually CLINICAL psychopaths????

OR . . . . are they???

Thanks.

WOW!! Food for thought!

From her bio, Terri Horman appears to have an ability to set, pursue and accomplish her goals. Body building, teaching etc.

Cannot fathom why she would have harmed Kyron, who was such a wonderful credit to her parenting and teaching skills. Unless the post-partum depression was extremely severe.

Shipping her 16 year-old son off to his bio father may have triggered some maternal resentment or perhaps there were other family dynamics causing psycho reactions in her.

Still finding it difficult to believe she murdered Kyron - she may have simply abandoned him in the woods or handed him off to someone else. All unthinkable acts.

Praying for that poor little boy.

I'd like to know more about that diagnosis of PPD from HER doctor; I've seen some postings that seem to disagree with what the husband said.

BIG PROBLEM here, for me, is that we have a high calibre Intel Engineer for a dad, and a masters degreed disciplined bodybuilder for a stepmom, and suddenly, if anonymous online postings can be believed, we have a couple of psycho sadistic lying weirdo kook murderers - depending upon which side of the fence one straddles.

It DOES appear to me that someone clearly needs professional help for compulsive story making .... but I'm really unsure IF that signifies that she's a clinical psychopath.

??????

I avoid such people like the plague in real life, but really, they don't seem to be all that RARE, all those "Walter Mitty" impressionistic, heads in their narcissistic vainglorious fantasy lives.

Clinical PSYCHOPATHS??? I dunno.Sources: Someone other than step-mom may know what happened to Kyron | kgw.com | KGW News | Portland, Oregon

In the interview, they again expressed hope that Kyron would be coming home. When asked if investigators have provided them information to have confidence that Kyron was alive, Kaine said yes. He declined to provide specifics.

Last month I read something interesting at the Scared Monkeys Natalee Case Discussion Forum.

Evidentally they'd discovered that plenty of posters on the boards were Arubans who were posting SOLELY to trash Mountain Brook, Alabama, and to make nasty comments about Natalee and Beth Holloway.

I'd never seen anything like that first couple months at Scared Monkeys.

However, I'm noticing that there are MANY truly outrageously nasty comments about Terri Moulton Horman that are standing without deletion at In Sessions.

One of the posters put in their sig line that they hope that TMH never sees her daughter again.

That really reminds me of some of the Over The Top comments made about Natalee & her family by early posters now apparently identified as close friends of Joran's family.

I wonder if something similar is occurring now???

It’s not far-fetched to think that once we put our suspicions and intuition out on these forums, we become emotionally invested in them.

So it should not surprise us that friends of a *person of interest* would use the same places to stop rumors and deflect bias.

From what we have read; Terri Moulton is an enigma. Methinks this case is going to end with a shocker.

>>>> "Terri Moulton is an enigma. Methinks this case is going to end with a shocker." <<<<

I wonder if Terri is any relation to Linda Moulton Howe, the woman frequently interviewed on Coast to Coast AM, who has that EarthFiles.org website about anomalous phenomena? Linda won some type of state beauty pageant when she was young, perhaps she won the state competition and went on to participate in the Miss America national contest.

To me, what is even more of an enigma than Terri Horman is her husband Kaine --- because if all the strange stuff we are learning about her is TRUE, then .... how would anyone stay married with her for years, and then have a child with her???? I mean .... what's with him?? Huh? Apparently finding a compulsive liar to be a suitable mother for his children????

Ya know?

Sodpoodle, what kind of shocker do you believe will resolve this case? Personally, I recall Joran's father Paul van der Sloot and the infamous quote attributed to him, "No body, no case."

Seriously, though, I do wonder if some of her strange 'On Camera' behavior & mannerisms bespeaks some of the shyness & social ineptitude associated with something like Asperger's Syndrome????

I'd really like to know, too, if she is as compulsive a liar as the bio-mom declares her to be; if she is, what in heaven's name was she doing raising ANYONE's child???????

By shocker - I mean that our rational thinking will be turned upside down. Remembering Diane Downs, Susan Smith, Casey Anthony and less notorious killers.

I'm not sure that I recall Diane Downs, but the first time I saw Susan Smith, her extreme theatricality made me firmly believe that she was responsible for her children's disappearance and they'd be found dead.

Casey Anthony was so obviously so extremely pathological from the second I laid eyes on her that I was genuinely surprised that she appeared to have lots of friends and an active social life.

Neither Casey or Susan, or Misty Cummings, either, ever appeared in the least bit fidgety, and none of these gals were camera shy, and frankly, all appear to be pretty dumb, undereducated, utterly unintellectual "chicks" whose main focus in life is what to wear to the next party and which "hot" male they'll hook up with there.

The adults populating young Kyron's life seem definitely better educated and infinitely smarter; I agree that Terri Moulton's behavior is peculiar - however, I don't have that same instantaneous impression of Pure Dripping Guilt that I did with the three young psychopath moms Casey & Susan, and stepmom Misty.

I hope that Kyron is located soon, I dread the idea of this becoming a cold case.
