Yes, I’ve known about the Depression of 1920-21 for only a few years now. I have a bachelor’s degree in economics and I can swear that of the 30 some courses I have had, nothing—absolutely nothing—was said, nor did I read, abouot this event. I cannot recall reading anything about it in my minor, history.

And of course, I was subjected to the endless statements that Harding was an ignoramus and FDR was a genius.

How well the Left has done its job, you know?

I only learned of the Wall Street Bombing recently myself. There are many amazing parallels between the 1920’s and today that are all but forgotten.

This is new to me, although I had only three college economics courses. I’ll be looking up more information for myself and my daughter, the Coast Guard. She’s trying to re-educate the crew of her cutter as they wander around the Pacific. And she tried to give some people in Brunei her Thomas Sowell books, “Because your economy sucks, and my mom will buy me new ones when I get back to the U.S.”

I was fortunate to hear about it a year ago—I think it was our buddy Peter Schiff.

It was also mentioned in the Amity Shlaes book The Forgotten Man.

I believe UE was around 11 or 12% and the top income tax rate was 70%.

This little fact is something the liberals like to ignore as they like to believe the rich never paid their fair share before 1932.

Correct. Woodrow Wilson tried (and failed) with a lot of FDR style "solutions" before Warren G. Harding ever took office. That's exactly why the 1920 election was such a blow-out after a series of elections which were relatively close.

It had little to do with poor candidates which the Democrats ran in 1920 which, as you may know, included FDR in the VP slot. It was a wholesale repudiation of Woodrow Wilson's policies.
