...just now they were "wondering if Contador let Andy win it at the end today".

No gifts...

Would LOVE to know what Andy said to Alberto after he caught back up when AC tried to break off and they were side by side for a bit.

If looks could kill, the coroner would have already had Alberto packed up into the back of his hearse and halfway back to the Contador family's church by now after that withering glare from Andy!

I had wondered what happened at the finish, I can’t imagine that AC didn’t have the legs to accelerate one more time.

Maybe he just didn’t want to take the grief that would have ensued. Or wants to win the Tour w/o a Stage win, assuming Fabian takes the TT on Saturday.

I was a bit surprised, and very pleased, that Andy was able to respond to AC’s attack. He showed some serious acceleration there, they both did.

It is the top 3 from each team right? That 3rd Rabobank rider must be way way back since they have two in the top 10 overall.

Best was the Alps d Huez TT a few years back. INSANE crowd.

Yeah, as I recall it was mostly Germans who had been camped up there for days drinking beer. The race organizers vowed never to do something like that again.

cumulative total of the Top 3 riders from each team in each stage. So it is not the top 3 riders in the GC for the team, it is the best 3 of each stage. RS put a hurt on everyone Tuesday with Armstrong and Horner in the Breakaway.

Um, ok, I don't know if this got mentioned yet, but RINO Petacchi is under investigation for doping back in Italy.

No proof yet but:

Padova prosecutor, Benedetto Roberti is working on the proof. Prior to the Tour de France, he sent Petacchi a registered letter that he is under investigation for doping and has since passed his information to head prosecutor of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), Ettore Torri.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Petacchi is accused of using synthetic blood Perfluorocarbon (PFC) and human serum albumin, which is used to lower EPO levels.

Petacchi's lawyer said his rider was not informed of the investigation until July 12, after the Tour de France started on July 3. Regardless, Petacchi will meet with Roberti after the race and he has the support of his team.

Substantive post: Thor is the sprint points leader @ 191 (Petacchi is @187) & so is wearing the green.

1000! YAY! Isn’t there some ancient Tour tradition that the 1K post winner gets to ride in the Cervelo team bus?
