For many years we had a little boat there - and we would travel all over the lake, and bbq when we docked - and we would fish, and get together with other boaters.
How do things look in TN?
Sounds like good family fun!
I am fighting off a cold for past few days & so staying home& sleeping a lot & just doing some computer things.
got an email today from local friend on the transparent butterflies & looked up & shot her the thread I did on them 3 years ago at the Finest. It was fun looking thru the thread and all the posts and graphics.
Lady X was still with us & posting. So was Maj. many that are not at FR for one reason or another.
Freema posted her first graphic!
Noted the tiny pix pictures all seem to have disappeared. I used them for awhile
Here is one I lifted from thread

I had a dog that couldn’t pee in Big Bear, Ca. Everything was covered in snow. She never went in snow before. I said to my friend, I need to find some grass. She thought I wanted to smoke some (LOL) and I said no, my dog has never gone in snow. We LAUGHED! Finally found a spot of grass!!!!
forgot to include the link.. (blame it on the meds )
WOW! Love the story and graphic about the butterfly! Thank you!!
Reminds me of my eye exams! LOL!
Hi Dolly, That graphic makes me a wee bit dizzy if I look too long. Sorry about the cold...they can make you feel pretty awful!!
I remember the transparent butterflies. They are as pretty as it gets! I’ve heard so many speak of Lady X. Of course, I know Majie but there’s a few others that have passed that I wasn’t fortunate enough to meet!
Love the Butterfly poem...NNB is really good, isn’t he? I noticed he wrote a lot of poetry in 2004. He seemed to stay busy that year!
Did Lady X die from cancer? Wish I could have met her!!
Chicken soup and rest is as good as you can do for that stinking cold. Get well fast!! Good to hear from you...you should post the illusion on Facebook, they will love it.
I called it "the year of rhyming dangerously". Conspiracy Guy said I had too much time on my hands.
Then you do agree that you wrote a lot of poetry in 2004. I have noticed many of your poems that are posted today are in 2004! I guess poets are sometimes inspired to write and write and then you hit a place where you just don’t want to write or you’re just not inspired???
Keep writing for all of us!
NNBob - IMHO, you should STILL have ‘too much time” on your “hands” - for writing poetry, of course.
You, and Jack Deth, and Wayzata Johnn always seem to touch my heart with your ‘words - so well put together!’
I got stuck on that thread link a while. Loved it. Finally just bookmarked and will finish when I can. Very interesting. Isn’t it funny that I joined F.R. in 2000 and didn’t find Amy’s for a long time.
I lurked from 1999 to 2000. I was mostly doing political stuff....working toward Bush’s election and then his 8 years as President. There was a lot to keep me busy! My husband didn’t pass away until 2004....in other words he knew how well I liked F. R. I would yell at him to come see something, etc. He was t.v.ing in the same room. When he passed away, I didn’t know how to post an article and I wrote Jim and bless his heart, he started a prayer thread for me. I have it in my bookmarks.
We're Coming!
Oh yes, we're on our way into that future land,
That has 'til now been only on display.
Our concentration on our goal cannot be pried away,
And soon we'll have our destination well in hand.
Sweet Alice understood it, that barrier we see,
Is only but a clever sighting glass.
That serves to illustrate as we reflect on it,
Our purposes and what we choose to be.
The definition of the image grows more detailed,
The colors grow more crisp, entrance the eye,
And every thing that can be twisted mogrifies,
Until we think our mind has come derailed.
But that is just one thing that has to learn anew,
The problems of a child that is just born.
Accept the new realities before you,
Do not reject them as you would a dream review.
We're coming!
The world is changing faster than you thought it would,
And where it will arrive we do not know,
But try to keep an open mind about it,
Much more so than you ever thought you should.
So when your mind at last begins expanding,
As memories collect and do not leave,
Just grow a little bigger with a bite or two,
The vistas all around are just outstanding!
Before you scoff and say I'm full of hype,
Remember it's been coming for some time,
You may recall it better if the words rhyme,
I'm more than some mere caterpillar with a pipe.

Thanks, Bob! Will read in detail in the morning when I’m rested!
Thanks for the pings; pic (#1230); link (#1236). Beautiful areas we have visited...as I recall the days vacationing/camping out west (from Michigan) with my wife and 3 children in the late 80’s.
Great thread. Thanks to all posters.
