The last minutes of the game reminded me of that old Shakespeare quote "As two spent swimmers that do cling together/ And choke their art"... They were completely knocked out after 120 minutes (the equivalent of a marathon, no less).

You’d think soccer/FIFA would get into the early 20th century and figure out how to use a stopwatch.

I’ve actually sat with a stopwatch and timed an actual WC match (in 2002). It was ~30 minutes of actual ball-in-play per half.
