I agree with you. It smacks of total cronyism. Like favors are being called in. Tired of it....no matter who it is. Call a spade a spade and a RINO a RINO. THAT would have gotten my attention.
The appearance after “the speech” on O’Reilly was a bit weird. When he asked her what she’d do in response, it seemed like she dodged....why?
Well, I’m looking for “knock in” factors, all you’re concerned about is “knock out” factors. You have become a victim of the cult of personality, which unfortunately is a very poor strategy for picking a president.
A little tiny bit of them goes a long long long way. I know supporters of Governor Palin in real life, but absolutely none of them are remotely what I'd term 'Sarah Idolators.'
LOL
Thanks for all your nice posts, but I'm outta here, ya know???
How many times can you post this same vanity? Honestly, they’re all the same.
I doubt anyone would go that far. However, whether it's a crush or hero worship, your obsession with the woman is indeed creepy.
Well said...
‘You have become a victim of the cult of personality, which unfortunately is a very poor strategy for picking a president.’
If we have the right candidate, why clutch at straws, and argue about the nature of strategy used to select them? Time to unite behind the candidate IMHO.
“If we have the right candidate, why clutch at straws, and argue about the nature of strategy used to select them?”
Counting dimples is no strategy for selecting a president.
If Sarah Palin were to debate Barack Obama. She would kick his butt, you know that more than anyone because you are smart. It would be like Kennedy vs Nixon. People would see who has the most passion for America.
Obama represents the past. Palin represents a new generation.
Unfortunately I don’t agree. Palin’s cliche driven responses to most of the questions asked would drive away most of the independents, middle roaders and blue dog democrats she needs to win.
Why is it so many of those on the far left and right misplace passion for competence?
Did she drive away moderates when she was debating Joe Biden ? That was not even a contest. It was John McCain who couldn’t debate Obama to save his life.
Passion is important because 80% of Reagan conservative is just building confidence. making the country believe in it’s self again.
What is truly creepy is the all-consuming hatred of Sarah Palin felt by some of those on this board.
I expect you to understand at the cellular level that disliking a politician for whatever reason isn't wrong. Not supporting Sarah Palin isn't wrong. Not coming unhinged every time someone criticizes her isn't wrong. That's what I expect.
Disagreeing is patriotic. Disagreeing is American. Disagreeing, even vehemently, means that we reject royalty and special treatment. Disagreement, regardless of its form means that politicians work for us and that we do not work for them. Disagreement makes us citizens, not subjects.
That's what I expect you to understand.
You know why?
Because any politician that needs protection from mouthy voters, political opponents, or pundits needs to find another job right away.
Any politician that can be "hurt" (your words in post #7)...
I am trying to stop the attacks. Nothing more. Nothing less. It has nothing to do with my ego.
This is hurting Governor Palin. she needs to know that
...needs to step away from the podium immediately and go work on their golf swing. If what is "hurting" Palin are the decisions she's making, then any and all criticism is valid and that becomes something she alone needs to deal with.
People are imperfect. Politicians are particularly imperfect. They have it in their minds that they're smart enough and wise enough to rule the rest of us. That's what they're asking to do when they stand up on that stage and ask for our votes and our money. Some are smart, strong, and wise enough. Some are not.
It is wrong to think that any politician anywhere deserves any special consideration. This is a job they beg for. They either need to toughen up and roll with the punches, or walk away.
Men and women from the Revolutionary War onward did not give their all so that I could sit back on my rear end and worry myself stupid over a politician. None of those heros gave their all so that someone who wants to protect a politician could tell the rest of us what to think, or how to think, or what to write about any politician.
It's our job to decide if they are worthy. It's their job to toughen up, learn from their mistakes, or get the heck out of the way.
Personally, I doubt that Sarah Palin needs much of anything in the way of protection. I think you do her a great dishonor by thinking that she does.
P.S. I very much wanted Mark Sanford to run in 2012, but his flaws became all too apparent and he self-destructed in spectacular form. How politicians perform when they make bad decisions is part of how we know whether or not they're worth voting for. Sanford, as it turns out, is not worth voting for.Better to know it now than when they're ensconced in power.
As hard as it was to watch, that is what is supposed to happen. As hard as it is to watch, look at what's happening now that we have someone untested, who was treated with kid gloves, sitting in the White House.
Why complain if the candidate of choice is physically attractive and hence able to appeal to different segments of voters for different reasons. Nothing wrong with marketing a good product. Packaging counts too.
Well I could sit her and explain the down side to oversexing your candidate and exactly which demographic groups you’ll impact, but what’s the use.
Palin wearing those tight t-shirts is the dumbest thing she could do. It tells me one more time she isn;t ready for the presidency.
All I can add is I;m split on Palin. Like her and what she says sometimes. But it has come down to where I disagree on her endorsements about 60/40. And therefore, I hope it don’t know what it signifies. I’m waiting to see what she does in 2012. As for now, I’m open to others. Not putting all eggs in a basket. DeMint, Paul Ryan, Bachmann and Steve King coem to mind.
