Breaking bad IMHO is the best show on cable TV right now. The writing is tight and the characters are perfect. Last week was an episode about half measures. And no you cannot hide from a thinking man.
Whatcha wanna bet that 80% of that 55% lives in the rural areas where it really matters anyway?
There is a mechanism whereby the President can make this happen (a treaty) unilaterally and have force of law, no congress required.
###
Wrong. 2/3 of the Senators present have to vote to ratify a treaty.
You’re right. We saw it happen in New Orleans during Katrina. When the cops and the military came and illegally took their guns people just hung their heads and handed them over.
0bama and his regime are out to destroy what’s left of this country!
Yeah, I read that in the WSJ today. The NRA is next to be “un-exempted” from exercising 1st amendment rights.
That’s the worst case scenario for sure. I’m hoping we want be alone in this. If we are, so be it. Better than living under tyranny with no way to protect yourself. (it’s just me and the Wife)
BTW: what are you and yours going to do? Submit?
I only saw them take an old pistol from a little scrawny women who was kicking and fighting the entire time. And who took those videos?
Yeah, the cops did.
Dayman, you're giving bad advice and will end up being the first one the roaming hoards take out.
There were pictures in the newspapers and interviews with soldiers who were taking people’s guns. He said a few people objected but understood and politely handed them over.
I’ll see if I can find some of the news stories.
I do agree though I am about eyeball deep in tyranny and goobermint intrusion.
We have places for retreat (that I won't go into) but, we'll need a bit of notice and gathering of family and friends.
All I know is, when the rumors of confiscation come to light, the entire mood of this country will change immediately.
I can see folks gathering in their locals (armed of course) demanding to know answers and organizing for the near term. (at least in this state)
If every LEO and military person in this country were to take part in this action, it would take months if not years to complete. Hopefully, many will disobey orders and go home to their family. If not, it will make the civil war seem like a game of horseshoes.
Here are more.

One group of soldiers refused to violate the Constitution and follow an illegal order. No cops refused that I can find.
Katrina was an actual disaster with all that goes along with it. (rioting, looting, thievery, assults) There were criminal gangs running the street with weapons.
In that case, law enforcement had no choice.
I don’t think you can compare that to what the UN want’s to do. The scale of operation is totally different.
You have a city, half or more empty and a surrounding rural area vs the entire USA.
BTW: I’m not going to say that the Katrina operation wasn’t a dress rehersal for future events. It sure could of been.
There were criminal gangs running the street with weapons.

Which is when one needs his gun the most. BTW The Supreme Court ruled that the confiscations were a violation of the Constitution.
Bad weather and crime do NOT provide the government with exemptions to the Bill of Rights.
“Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves. ...” William Pitt
Mr. Pitt was a wise man.
I agree!
I’m not giving any advice. I’m expressing doubt that people would fight back and pointing out that the use of small arms is not the most efficient way to strike back. I haven’t posted anything that isn’t protected by the 1st amendment.
