Why wouldn’t they still play each other?

Eh..the Big 12 was forced anyway, Nebraska was tired of following Texas around like a puppy dog. They already lost the Nebraska OU rivalry...so I’m not sure the history argument applies.
Texas wouldn’t budge on their TV demands.
To: ChinaThreat
Apparently, Nebraska never liked the idea of a Big 12, and very much didnt like Texas being the powerbroker.

That's not it, the Texas and Oklahoma teams were ready to bolt to the Pac 10.That's not it either. UT and A&M were trying to keep Nebraska in the Big 12. They said if Nebraska goes, the Big 12 is dead. Now the question is, will UT and A&M go west the Pac or east to the SEC? Stallings wants them in the SEC, but UT seems to be set on the Pac.

Will the Big 10 now take the name Big 12, hee hee. Might as well. The current Big 12 will cease to exist in 2 years or so.

It is 1505 miles from Boston College to Univ of Miami (ACC)
To: dfwgator
it was an answer to the trivia question asked further up in the thread (longest running consecutive college football rivalry)
To: Crimson Elephant
I could see A&M going to the SEC, it makes sense, they don’t want to be UT’s poor stepchild anymore.

"The SEC adds Florida State and Miami to create a 14-team conference."
Question, what would these two teams give the SEC? Seems to me that the Gators is Florida's team and the SEC is locked into a mega deal long term TV contract. All this does is split the pie up a little bit more.

A more relevant statement is where will Texas go. Because wherever Texas goes A&M is sure to follow like a little brother...

It is true that Texas was a big problem.

Isn't is Princeton and Rutgers? It was the first college football game and the first rivalry, but they haven't played each other in football in about 25 years.

“Explain, cornholer.”
I believe cornholer means anal sex.
Are you saying that about Nebraska?
If so, is there any doubt why Nebraskans don’t like you people.
To: Old Teufel Hunden
Question, what would these two teams give the SEC? Nothing.
