I have 5 of my own, a corn, 3 kings and a yellow anaconda. I used to feed live, but now only f/t. Not because of any ‘cruelty’ issues, as the prey in the wild is live, it happens. But I changed to avoid injury to my snakes, rats could definitely fighht back. Oh, plus it is very much cheaper.
I wondered when the man said “get it” did he mean the rabbit or the little girls? I think this is more over ordering the dog to do this in front of children. If the dog simply killed a rabbit then it wouldn’t be an issue.
It’s easy to confuse this story as being about a dog and a rabbit. It’s not.
It’s about a grown man intentionally trying to freak out some kids at a park.
Is the penalty too much? Probably, as it was a wild not a pet rabbit.
Luckily, for many of us, it’s not a crime to be a complete and total jackhole.
