When I was a kid I used to listen to him every Sunday night. I heard so many unusual recordings I still can’t believe it. Very interesting. He played songs about cannibalism, racist songs, EVERYTHING.
Fish heads...

You and I must be close in age, because I could have written your post. I remember ‘I am my own Grandpa’, and that guy named Weird Al Yankovic. Like an idiot, I laid in bed on those Sunday nights, wide awake because I was so jacked that I got to go to school in the morning. What an idiot!

Weird Al
before he got famous, when his only accompaniment was an accordion.
Dr. D doing his show live on KLSX in Los Angeles in addition to his syndicated show.
Un-PC songs from WWII
Great stuff.

Wow...just under the age group for the Doctor, but am old enough to remember “fish heads fish heads rolly polly fish heads...fish heads fish heads eat them up yummm”
What..about 1977 or so?
I had no idea the guy was still alive.

Ah, that’s sad.
I spent many a Sunday listening to him on the Mighty Met, KMET.

The first I heard of Weird Al was on Dr. Demento. I used to listed to Dr. Demento all the time when I was young. I always loved the funny five.
