i like the idea, but i can’t see it being a go... not even with FReepers...
Coach Phil Jackson basically said that the bill mirrors federal law. Sounds to me like he read it. He’s a very intelligent coach and all around intelligent individual. Hell, he should run for office.
Yup. Thanks I had forgotten. I am not an NBA fan but I admire this guy for his comments. I am aware of his record as a coach as well.
Glad to hear Phil Jackson isn’t playing along, but LA, LA County and their schools are all in on it. Phil also coached in Chicago, another city to be despised and boycotted.
Boston is no better. It is a sanctuary city and launch point for 911 terrorists.
Boston Councilors Take Aim At Arizona Immigration Law BOSTON
Boston City Council is stepping into the fray over the controversial new law in Arizona that requires police to question people if they have suspicions about their immigration status.
Councilors Michael Ross and Felix Arroyo plan to present a resolution Tuesday that would seek to identify and possibly sever any investments the city has with Arizona and Arizona-based companies.
Arroyo said its important to take a stand against the law, even if no financial ties are found.
As a Latino myself, if I were in Arizona, based on the law they just passed, I could be stopped and asked to prove my citizenship, he said. I was born in the city of Boston. Does that mean I have to walk around with my birth certificate in my back pocket?
The resolution would also ask city employees not to travel to Arizona for conferences or other city business.
The move follows similar measures against Arizona taken by city officials in Washington, D.C., New York and Los Angeles.
You may end up having to boycott more than you had ever planned on.
Please explain why it is then that you have the Chicago Bulls listed as one of your "favorite" sports teams on your FR homepage.
So the Lakers are responsible for what the city of LA does? How exactly does that work? This is completely illogical. Tell me about “the Rooney Rule” or some of the other idiotic things the Steelers have been behind, and THEN talk to me about a Laker-Celtic boycott.
NBA? Who watches the NBA?
¡Los Lakers ganaron!
No problem, I’m watching the Stanley Cup finals.
No worries - LOS(S) SUNS aren’t in the Finals, so I’m watching he Lakers taken it to the Celtics.
Let Major League SPorts like NFL and NBA be a lesson in the failures of socialism.
1) A Salary Cap. Each team can pay their roster a total amount and not go over.
2) The Draft. The worst team gets to pick the best players, yet somehow with every team having to work with the same payroll and the way the Draft is set up, some teams manage to win more often than others.
Just why is that?
Because socialism, which the NFL is a microcosm of, fails at socialism.
Phil Jackson maybe a New Age Hippie, but he’s not stupid and I doubt he’s a liberal.
Likely an “Indy”
Might see him at a Tea Party someday.
