Man on the street survey on star wars. 30% of the people were convinced that we already had a missile defence shield, and secret spacecraft were in orbit guarding the country.

I used to do a call-in program on local radio. We got similar calls once in a while and tried to use them to make a point. I would have tried to draw the woman out a little and get her to talk about where she got these ideas (such as they are). Instead of insulting one idiot, to no productive end, we could have exposed the media, the academic establishment, and the pop-culture left for the poisonous influences they are.

Savage takes call. Savage calls names. Savage hangs up. Wow, compelling radio. So different from his usual format.
You missed a couple:
Savage mentions his degrees and talks about how smart he is
Savage talks about his boat and what a redoubtable seaman he is.

This sounds like a shill call. Using the exact same “Obama’s stash” phrase as that welfare leech in Detroit? I’m not buying it.

The caller is unfortunately representative of about half of the electorate. Once the next amnesty happens, cretins like this will make up a majority of the electorate.
Just thought this was worth repeating. Lefties have been in control of public education for far too long, and this is the end result.

I don't know if you have seen the movie
Idiocracy Here is a quote that is pertinent:
As the 21st century began, human evolution was at a turning point. Natural selection, the process by which the strongest, the smartest, the fastest, reproduced in greater numbers than the rest, a process which had once favored the noblest traits of man, now began to favor different traits. Most science fiction of the day predicted a future that was more civilized and more intelligent. But as time went on, things seemed to be heading in the opposite direction. A dumbing down. How did this happen? Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most, and left the intelligent to become an endangered species.

There are also the vitamins. (I haven't listened to him for years, so I am just guessing he still talks about that.)

Point taken, I wondered about that as well. No way to know, really.

Unfortunately, common verbiage may only prove a common propaganda input stream. It may not prove deliberate collusion. Furthermore, I doubt the shill theory, because I have family members who demonstrate a similarly abysmal grasp of pragmatic economic and political realities. I truly believe their capacity for reasoning has been seriously damaged. It is a consequence of spending years under a training process that rewards the subject for avoiding critical thought. The result is two-fold. First, they become lower-tier liberals, talking-point repeater stations, if you will. Second, they cannot perform in those reality-based disciplines that demand organized thinking, so they fall to the lower tier of the economy as well. It all makes sense.
